Landeskog Practicing w/Team

Should be all good since he would not have played in the playoffs if that wasn't the case. Unless there are unexpected setbacks etc.
I thought CMac made a comment in his end of the season presser where he said there wasn't nothing more than bumps and bruises to all but Ross at that point?

Cavalier son of a bitch acts like Tucker Poolman was nobody, but whatever.

Yeah, he said something like that. But things can always happen during training, using snowplows etc. and Landy already had at least two setbacks on the road back to line-up.

Yeah, let's hope the injury issues are behind. Just curious if he can play the whole regular season or if he needs to sit out some games. I would prefer him to take it easy during the regular season and even skip games if the knee needs it.

Wouldn't it be something if we find out that Gabriel Landeskog has actually been spending the last three years performing a sacred Swedish ritual that has completely reversed the Avalanche injury curse.

Rumor has it, Peter Forsberg's ankle has started feeling better the last few months and he's upped his skating program. "I haven't felt like reverse checking a MF'r like this in decades!", a rejuvenated Forsberg said.

This team hates revealing injury info unless it's obvious and they have to.

All indications suggest he's essentially back and ready to go for Day 1 next year.

I think that'll be a pretty significant dynamic change for us next year. To have the captain back on the ice with these guys all season.

Very exciting.
Most importantly, I think Mack needs it.

He needs someone to reduce the constant pressure and seriousness all the time. Landeskog provides that more calming presence that I think Mack alluded to in the past.

The playoffs show that Landy can still perform at a 2nd line level. I think the question for next season is how many games he can play and still be able to maintain that level when the playoffs come around. Playing a full 82 game season seems like an unreasonable ask. I'd be happy with 50+ games, but that does mean that the team is going to have to figure out what to do with the approximately 40% of the games where he is resting.

You're assuming Landeskog will need to rest. I'm assuming he will work his butt off this offseason and be ready for an 82 game (plus playoffs) schedule. IMHO ;)

Easy, we just go 50-0 with him in the lineup and can lose the other games no problem :sarcasm:

Three years without the bumps and bruises of a full hockey season, and nothing to do but work on his conditioning for large part of that break. He should be ready to go and better than ever. As long as the knee holds. I'm so freaking excited about this because of how much of a miracle it is that he's back to playing. Good to hear his positive comments, means that there wasn't a setback caused the playoff games.

That is what my comment is about. No one has successfully come back from this surgery to play an entire season. Its been heavily implied if not outright said that he will have to manage his knee for the rest of his career. I'm not worried about his conditioning.
Gotcha. Hopefully we'll have a better start to the season than last year, so we can take it easy.
