How many of us legit thought Gabe would be successfully playing at this level in the POs much less be a dynamic catalyst to supercharge the team on the ice? I never saw it coming like this.

It's not exactly a brave take to claim that people not making $9M in a year can still have inspiring stories.
I watch hockey solely for it being a distraction from the BS in the world. That said, I'm still hyper-aware that I'm watching millionaire jocks play a game for billionaire owners and mass media empires.
None of which changes how great a story Landeskog has. I get that Dallas fans may appreciate that less than us. Duh. But regardless of loyalties it is a fantastic narrative.

Honestly, I don't think anybody was 100% sure what Lando had in the tank. Not even Bednar. Because of LTIR his first SCP game was gonna be . . . his first game period. A few shifts with the Eagles against the Henderson Silvernights were encouraging but . . . that's not Round 1 with Dallas.
2025 Lando looks a lot like like 2019 Lando. Which is pretty amazing.
I 100% thought he'd return. I even thought he'd be good after a few games.
I did not think he'd be instantaneously that good though.
I did feel there was some chance he'd be faster and lighter having lost some bulk, assuming the injury was actually fully healed. It would only make sense for him to lean out a bit.

Seriously... people are paying money to watch this shit, why make them contemplate this stuff? Who does it benefit? I happen to believe there are some seriously machavelian people employed in the NHL.
At some point fans of this team simply deserve better. I'm not sure what it's going to take... but I'm willing to walk into Altitude's corporate office and take a dump on their floor once a week if others are willing to follow suit.

He spends three years of blood, sweat, and tears, doubting whether he'd make it back at times, but dreaming the whole time about what it would be like.
Achieves his goal and makes it back to the NHL. Plays what was essentially the WCF in round 1. Looks great, skating fairly well, battling well, knee seems to be holding up ok, scored a big goal. Everything lining up for a story book ending.
Then with a little over 12 minutes away from advancing, perhaps to the Stanley Cup Finals, his teammates give it away, and his former teammate scores a hat trick to end his season, in a heartbreaking loss that will stick with him a long time.
He said he wasn't ready to stop playing yet. I bet. The highest highs and the lowest lows.

I know half of your posts are semi-serious rage baits, but still.
If anything, they should've played him in G2 instead of Wood. He was clearly ready to go, would've boosted their lineup immediately, and taken a lot of the pressure out of G3. The fan boost would've still been there, because it was the first home game in 3 years.
Don't think they neded this distraction with Dallas. With Heiskanen and Robertson out but it's not now
