Is he just one of those guys who can dominate at the AHL level but not the NHL level?

He's actually a half-decent fourth line center. Probably one of the better ones on the draw, too. But his offense just hasn't shown up outside of his games under Nelson.

Won't be surprised either way.

Like a defensive Arcobello... Good on draws. Just a tad too slow and weak to win puck battles. Preseason All-Star last year.

Letestu is just as useless but provides a smidge more offense.

I wonder if he'll end up KHL.

I think he ends up in the SEL as early as mid season this year. Edmonton has been known to loan players they know they are done with to Euro teams.

Another one of those guys that could have been a solid NHL'er but the TMac/Lowe era murdered his progression.

With Nate Thompson injured, the Ducks could actually use a defensive 4th line center. It would allow Wagner to play RW, where he was succesfull last season. But that would also mean Jared Boll gets bumped out of the lineup, and that won't happen..

He did really good in NHL under Nelson for 1 season and looked to be a good 3rd liner. But fell apart since.

In AHL he is dominant though. Hes like the Bergeron of AHL. PPG+ player, great defensively.

Hell be back in SHL soon tho

Good 4th line center...just don't ask much of him offensively. Good PK guy and decent faceoffs.

Just a matter of a perfect fit for someone.

Otherwise, Edmonton keeps him for call-up depth.

I could see it, three man rotation for two spots on the 4th line. Garbutt - Lander/Wagner - Wagner/Boll.

Once he passes DRW should trade for him and put him in Grand Rapids with Nelson. Those 2 teared it up. Even if he never makes NHL, hell be a massive addition for AHL squad. At best it gets him going again and he rebounds into an NHL player

If he's not good enough for the Oilers, does anyone really think he's good enough for some other team?

If he is picked up, forget "don't expect much offense". Don't expect any offense. But he can win the odd faceoff, and he'll eat some PK time I guess.

Good defensive forward, good on faceoffs and decent on PK. Black hole offensively (Korpikoski bad if not worse), not fast, not overly physical. Racks up points at the AHL level, but can't stick at the NHL level. Best bet for him is to be claimed by Detroit to be reunited with Todd Nelson.

Dime a dozen player. Won't get claimed.

Every team has 2-3 guys lime him. Every team has also waived their own guys.

He's more akin to a cheapo vet on his last legs even though he's young-ish. Basically a faceoff specialist... sort of like Boyd Gordon, Jarret Stoll, Brooks Laich. I doubt he's claimed... teams want bottom-6 to be able to score.

Dime a dozen players are grinders with no useful skill for the league.
