New York Islanders: Lamoriello Contract Not Renewed; John Collins Searching for Next GM

islanders have to be waiting on Scott White

Thats the only reason why this has gone on so long. NHL is so dumb for not allowing AGM's to do interviews during the playoffs
Either him or Mark Janko from Dallas. Possibly Darren Yorke from Carolina as well. Those 3 would be my guess as to who else they’ll interview. Possibly next week if one of the two teams gets knocked out.

I think this is dead on target (see below).

Again agree.

Here's the problem...Dallas is winning this round and it means they'll be playing through the end of the month...And what if they make the finals? You can't wait until mid June to name a President/GM.

That said in past years, we've seen executives like Bill Zito and Chris Drury interviewed during playoff runs after their teams granted permission. So would Dallas (or any other team) grant permission? I hope so.

I’d like to see a breakdown of (no order of preference):
Bergevin/Jarmo: POHO
Darche/Janko/White/Yorke: GM
Both females: AGMs with one running the AHL and the other specializing in analytics
Hickey: special advisor to the GM (learning the trade and offering his insight)

Jarmo also director of scouting and a doubled/tripled staff of scouts

As for the active guys, I’m guessing Collins went to the teams and they said after the season pending the spot is still available. They could have had a preliminary interview already that we don’t even know about.

After all that I'd like to see Collins call Uncle Steve in Flushing and initiate a hostile takeover from Scott Malkin.

Uncle Steve is trying to make his money back from the loss of luxury box tickets after giving it away to that Soto guy.

In essence it's a front office rebuild to get it into the 21st century since Lou was a one-man wrecking crew, plus a roster rebuild.
And what’s NOT to like about that? If you are Holland, it makes sense, but for the rest of the ‘candidates’ under 70, seems like a opportunity all over it. Especially, with a #1 pick in your lap.

Brilliant observation there Pierre. Took you this long to figure that out? Guess him and Staple in their world of make believe couldn’t figure out there’s more going beyond the unemployed crew everyone is so scared of.
Because the NHL is filled with morons

There are others. Ross Mahoney from WAS might be the most qualified AGM out there - he almost got the Devs job before they hired Fitz, and when McPhee went to VGK he tried to hire him as his AGM but WAS wouldn't let him interview for a lateral position.

Gregory Campbell and Paul Krepelka from FLA. And Rich Peverley from DAL gets credit from Nill for being his "eyes and ears" when it comes to acquiring/signing players. There are lots of possibilities.

Not getting it. What does saying "this week" have to do with any deep meanings besides the obvious?
seeing as we're still in ''this week'' Staple seemed to indicate they've been interviewed already .

so , no deep meaning other than the process has begun already with darche , bergevin , jarmo already being interviewed ''this week'' , as in either mon , tue
