Hmmmm ....Ya. I know this....But you need to backtrack one more post. My post was in response to someone saying the search wasn't a "clusterf***." Make sure you reply to that other post as well to say the same.
Quite the opposite. I’ve worked for several very successful companies and most of the executives were fired at some point in their career.Professional sports are like no other business. No other business interviews for a very high ranking management position and lines up people who were fired some multiple times at the same position that they are interviewing for. Enough with the retreads. Give it to Darche. We might strike gold.
Thought it was said Lou turned down Buffalo. Did he change his mind? Maybe things aren’t going the way he wants with the Isles?Oh boy. Several tweets now, one from Andy Graziano and another from Nick Alberga showing Lou in Buffalo airport this morning. There have been rumors he was talking to them.
But in Islanders Land, negativity often reflects reality. We ask "what if" because we don't know. Some people choose to see things with a half glass full when they don't know what's happening, but your glass is almost always on empty and you have a tendency to beat the boards down with your brand of hyper negativity.
Relax. We'll find stuff out when it happens.
He was jonesing for Anchor Wings.Oh boy. Several tweets now, one from Andy Graziano and another from Nick Alberga showing Lou in Buffalo airport this morning. There have been rumors he was talking to them.
Did Staple actually post that the Isles are interviewing Bergevin, Kekalainen and Darche this week? Maybe it was behind a pay wall, but I haven't seen it. I've only seen Lebrun's tweet in which he was saying he was adding info ("Further to") to what Staple reported.
Nate, Brent and Tyce have all been in the organization so why not Tage too. He’s trying to save his job by coming back with Tage Thompson
yeah, that's the biggest knock on Jarmo to me - if his hands were tied there that's a pretty big deal. between his blues and Columbus days he's drafted extremely well and avoided some serious landmines. He's been able to make gigantic trades and seems to always come out on top of them.Out of the following names here is how I would list them:
1.) Darche
2.) Jarmo (he could be 1 if the ownership story about not letting him trade Panarin/Bob is true)
3.) Bergevin
You could sell me on Darche and Jarmo, but the other does not really excite me.
Notes...
- Mathieu Darche isn’t the only current Assistant GM on the New York Islanders’ radar, as I first reported over a week ago. The club is expected to interview several other current AGMs for their vacant GM position. There is also some chatter that Patrick Burke, the NHL’s Vice President of Player Safety, is also being considered for a managerial position.
- Whoever is hired as Islanders GM may have to address a couple contractual items right off the hop. There is a strong belief veteran forward Kyle Palmieri (a pending UFA) and young blueliner Adam Boqvist (a pending RFA) had handshake agreements on extensions before the Isles moved on from Lou Lamoriello. My guess is the final call will now be up to the new GM.
Yeah, multiple picks for basically a 4th liner, and he didn't help TBL.FWIW, the Tanner Jeannott trade was maybe the worst deadline trade in recent memory, and he had at least some part in that.
Mayfield for Byram, Engvall and Duclair for Gibson.pagnotta schmagnotta. "some AGMS". thanks man
If they can pull off both, that would be highway robbery.Mayfield for Byram, Engvall and Duclair for Gibson.
You are right, Konk is twisting words and telling lies for sure. I certainly did not use the words 'equal chance'. The verbiage was always 'contender' from me. Now, according to Konk I've said equal chance, I've claimed there are no favorites, and a bunch of nonsense he added to make it look like my simple opinion was some conspiracy theory. Respect .... gone.”There are 3 kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics”.
According to statistics the Isles should draft Misa instead of Schaefer. Why? Because if you analyse the top 3 highest draft picks of all the remaining teams in the Stanley Cup - almost all of the players are forwards. Therefore, there is a higher probability for the Isles to be successful if they draft Misa instead of Schaefer!
The media (Botta, Stapleton) as well as this board, is making the process out to be more than it is not. Patience...
Let’s aim for the committee approach, courtesy of Charles Wang.I agree with most of this and totally so on having more of a "group effort" than just one "hockey dictator."
And it's why I want that previous "hockey dictator" 100% removed from the Isles, because as long as he has Malkin's ear it will not only undermine the search of putting together "an effective team with expertise in all areas," but later down the line he might convince Malkin to meddle with this new group or worse...Reinstall him as GM.
