New York Islanders: Lamoriello Contract Not Renewed; John Collins Searching for Next GM

To whom it may concern,

I (insert name here) am very upset at the decision to keep Lou Lamoriello around instead of letting him go. As a lifelong Islanders fan, I feel like this is hurting the organization more than helping. Please hire a new general manager and let Mr. Lamoriello go to his retirement home in Boca Raton, FL.

Sincerely,
Life Long Islanders Fan

*P.S. bring back the replays of penalties and goals.

Leave my location ALONE

There's nothing for him to do here

He's Jupiter material . . .

Whata wrong with Boca? He’s has Century Village West written all over him. He’s part of the committee too.

Century Village is way too low scale for him and there's no drinking wine after the 9:00pm curfew

Jupiter has the Robert Kraft Asian Massage spas . . . we ALL get a happy ending that way

Welcome to the cool table. :sarcasm:

So Lebrun gets the actual info - normal interview and due diligence process. Staple and Botta fan the flames with nonsense around it.

Just a coincidence, but the second round ends next Monday, if applicable. That means 4 more teams become available. My guess is this schedule is strategically timed. The Isles have a target that’s in the playoffs. They need to wait it out.

This may be true...

But Lou's shouldn't be within 10 miles of Isles headquarters for the rest of eternity.

Someone needs to write another letter to Ownership! :sarcasm:

Joking or not....

I'd bet that if 10,000 fans wrote letters, or better yet - 5,000 season ticket holders cancelled their season tickets specifically saying it's because Lou isn't gone, he would be removed immediately.

But I was told Staple had no sources - Just grudges.
So you guys are asserting that LeBrun’s tweet is implying two opposite things.

It really seems like Malkin had no intention of moving on from Lou this year, and we're seeing the byproduct of reality play out now.

I don't agree the GM search has turned into some kind of circus, it just seems like the decision to move on was truly made 3 weeks ago. No reason to rush at this point, get the right person and come up with the correct long-term plan.

I'm shocked an 83 year old man invokes so much fear. I personally do not care if he sticks around in some advisory role to our ownership. If the new GM is too weak to push aside Lou at this point, they were not going to be successful anyway.

I would disagree with the 1st. Definitely they would do something if it hurt their wallets though....

But I'm not a season ticket holder.

I think it’s more that they’re enamored by his prestige and refusal to think he could do wrong even if the signs point to the opposite. That’s a bad sign. Even if the new GM comes in and the team stagnates for a year but he shows willingness to make changes, that’s a good sign atleast that he’s open to something different.
