Floated here, great listen this morning lots of insight into how Lou isolated himself with others, especially Collins who wants fans to have more access to players and players more involved in the community
When you consider how close the isles players and fans have been in the past compared to now, Collins has a point. And when we were great, you don’t mind Lou’s isolation of the players. When you’re losing..
I do really like the idea of adding the Baileys, Martins and Hickeys to the front office. Some people look down on those things due to country club atmosphere but I think it’s the same as above. Lou isolating players has its pros when they’re winning. When they’re losing you see the flaws. Always pros and cons to these things. I do like the pro side of familiarity with the market as a player and solid reputations these guys have and having a voice. And their relationships with fans.
Am I wrong for thinking Cal and Hickey were more pissed than the players on being spanked by the Rangers all year? Wouldn’t mind a little bit of that in the front office. Better than Roy’s “we played well”
