Wonder what ol' Garth is up to these days![]()
Of course mine came with no inside info, just the feeling something wasn't right between Lou & Patrick which I put out there on Saturday that one was not back lolSo Bottta was right
Roy knows what it takes to win even though I hated him as Montreal Canadian.Hard pass on that
I'd prefer to go with a first timer from a model org (Darche comes to mind), but if we go retread i'd want Kekalainen.So... who do we want?
So... who do we want?
I predict Roy is out on his keister within a week of the new GM (not Roy) taking over.I honestly think Roy will be the GM, or at least move to an assistants role. He indicated in his presser last year if I recall correctly something like I would like to be in the front office eventually.
Have any experienced GMs taken over a team and kept the coach?I predict Roy is out on his keister within a week of the new GM (not Roy) taking over.
Well....they won't be bored. We got PLENTY of work to do....If you're a good GM or an up and coming candidate, what is the attraction of the Islanders job?
He’s a good scout - awful as a GM.I'd prefer to go with a first timer from a model org (Darche comes to mind), but if we go retread i'd want Kekalainen.

I was going to say Darche or Gilman, but Kekelainen definitely makes sense as wellI'd prefer to go with a first timer from a model org (Darche comes to mind), but if we go retread i'd want Kekalainen.
New building, relatively hands off ownership, immediate chance to put your stamp on the rosterIf you're a good GM or an up and coming candidate, what is the attraction of the Islanders job?
Like nearly any other organization. But if you're a legit GM candidate, and you look at this roster and barren farm system, why would you want this job over the next one?A GM position in an organization that is clearly a professionally ran one with a permanent home.
Makes it even more infuriating. Now the interesting thing to think about is a new GM won’t be on the hot seat. Will he commit to a rebuild to sell everything off filled through the draft and gone for Gavin McKenna? Obviously, we want to win and compete, but we don’t know the philosophy of mindset of a new. The difference between this and the Tavares rebuild is actually pieces to sell off and get good assets back and we already have two really good young players in Cole Eiserman and Cal Ritchie.Still such a wasted opportunity at the deadline thanks to Lou and ownership. Should have moved Lee, Palmieri and Pageau at the deadline, it was such a sellers market.
