Dvorsky is my easy favorite here, followed by Benson.

Interesting.

  • Dvorsky flunked out of the SHL last season putting up goose eggs in 10 games so one can argue Danielson has had the better foray into Pro hockey.
  • They both switched teams last season and put up comparable points per game with an edge to Dvorsky.
  • Dvorsky had a better world junior showing (with more opportunity)
  • Danielson had a better CHL playoffs (with more opportunity)

Of course its your opinion but I'm surprised someone could identify Dvorsky as a clear favourite at this point.

In my option, Danielson's game projects better to the pro level, especially the skating. Danielson's ability to transport the puck is very much a need in this organization.

Of course he is sitting AJ to put gustufson back in the lineup. Another example of awful coaching.

I'm probably a broken record on this topic but the organization has consistently spoken quite highly about AlJo but hasn't given him a real, consistent opportunity.

I don't get it.

Which is weird because at the season end presser Lalonde was saying how he prefers to inject youth to the lineup as much as possible but Steve "has a different approach". Perhaps its Steve pushing to play the vets?

I'm guessing in some cases it's that Yzerman would rather them play big minutes in the minors than have Lalonde play them 6 minutes in the NHL.

On a certain level the tension is the same as always. Coaches want to win right now, GM's want to develop the best competitive team they can. Those don't always line up.

But AJ can't play in the minors so he's literally sitting in the press box despite the fact that his advanced analytics show he has a more positive impact on the ice than both chariot and petry who have been terrible. And gustufson. This is why lalonde needs to go asap.

Can we agree on the basis that WHL and OHL are comparable leagues?

- Dvorsky is a year younger than Nate
- Dvorsky CRUSHED Nate in terms of production in juniors (despite being younger)
- Dvorsky had a much better WJC
- Dvorsky is thriving in the AHL and will probably be recalled for some games in St Louis this year.

Honestly not seeing where you can claim Nate looks to have the better game.

If that's what it looks like, that's a problem with the analysis of the analytics.

Don't get me wrong I want AJ to play but Chiarot in particular has not been terrible. He's also been playing 20 minutes a game with 2 minutes of it on the PK. AJ has played around 12 minutes and only Gustaffson has started more in the offensive zone.

It's not even close to apples to apples.

AJ shouldn't be in place of Chiarot or even Petry as he should Maatta or Holl.

Also Johansson played last game.

You’re smoking crack if you think chiarot has been playing good, he’s a terrible defenseman and always has been. His analytics are terrible and only looks decent when getting carried by someone else, but he consistently brings down whatever pair he is on.

It's not like I think he's a Norris contender. On a playoff team he'd be on the bottom pair, but he's playing as a #3 dman, which with this defensive corps is about where he belongs.

It will be fun day, when Chiarot wil go for Trouba and both team fans are so happy about the scapegoat going away and the new one just entering in.

"Thriving" is a reach. 1 point in his last 4 after a hot start. For someone who complained a lot about Danielson during preseason you also don't seem to mind that Dvorsky's preseason was a brutal non-show.

Yes the WHL and OHL are similar though the WHL is often viewed higher.

The rest of your post? filled with hyperbole.

Danielson is 9 months older, same draft class and has less pro games of experience.

"CRUSHED" is definitely a hyperbole. Apples to apples both players switched teams part way through the season. Danielson finished with 1.4 points per game and dvorsky finished with a 1.6 points per game.

Danielson had a better CHL Playoffs.

Also lol @ saying only one guy is thriving in the AHL when they are 3 points apart and 7 games into the season.

Dvorsky is a quality prospect. So is Danielson. Anything else is spin.
