don't really know much about williams aside from how he's been plagued by back issues. fortunately he's still young so this is a good trade for the future as well

hornets got a good one in knecht

Hearing about back issues is always very concerning

Especially with tall nba players

Have to wait a lifetime to see the result, but that 2031 1st is unprotected which could be interesting. Lakers GM and Labron saying "F it. We'll be long gone by then"

I don’t think it has anything to do with LeBron

This was a trade to get a 23y C who’s style fits Lukas. They need to sell the Lakers and their future to him to get him signed. By the reports Pelinka had gone to Luka and asked what type of C he prefers and they went out and got him one

With 23y Williams, 25y Luka, 26y Reaves they don’t have to be that worried about 2031 1st round pick. Unlike a week ago

Luka in LA just starting his prime is going to attract players to Lakers

Wow Inside the NBA talked about Williams back being a major concern and they were surprised the trade happened

Cause he literally can’t weight train cause of his back.

Probably the best outcome for the Lakers. Williams probably isn't what the Lakers need in terms of a big man skillset and they can keep the few remaining trade assets for the off-season. They can try to re-visit talks for Walker Kessler again, who I think is a much better fit.

lakers dodge a major bullet. really sucks to lose out on a talented big man, but would've been 10x worse to have given up all that only for williams to have suffered a major injury in a few weeks

no wonder the hornets called the lakers about williams. they tried to pull a quick one on them

You probably can't play Knecht given he knows he's the guy leaving if there's ever a big man deal the Lakers plan on making and he may not trust the organization anymore.

Shitty situation for all involved but such is life in the NBA.

Mark Williams must have some major, major injury concerns that could end his career in a couple of years.
