Oh, Falkovsky, what a weird situation that was. Drafted by the Flames in 2016 ripped it up in the ECHL in 2016 and then the Flames didnt bother to sign him.

Have not followed his play, but his numbers (especially goals) are nowhere where they were during that first season.

There is also a rumour that Eric Martinsson wants to return to Sweden to play which would leave Minnesota’s AHL team short a d-man so Falkovsky provides a bit of AHL D depth. Meanwhile LA has a pretty large amount of AHL D depth so Falkovsky wasn’t likely to see much AHL time there and Jenys adds a bit of forward depth for them which they may need if LA continues to struggle and tries to unload some forward depth. So yeah it’s not a big trade by any means but there was a reason the deal was made.
