So he was drunk when he was with the Flames?

That explained it.

I hate the Kings but good luck to Setoguchi

Best part about this is that guy in the OP has been trashing people on his Twitter for suggesting Seto would make the team. I know it's probably due to injuries, but still ironic.

How has he looked in pre season? Is he gonna be on the kings roster or in the AHL?

Sutter mentioned that Setoguchi looked better earlier in the camp than he did to end it. But it sounds like he's earned a spot for now since Gaborik is injured to start the season. Will be interesting to see if it's a two way deal.

I hope he can be productive for the Kings, he was pretty good for the Sharks for a few years early in his career, sucks that he went through what he did, which obviously had an impact on his game.

I hope Setoguchi does get a contract with Los Angeles.

I don't know if he'd crack the Kings roster, but if he does make it back to the NHL that would be good for Devon Setoguchi especially if he can find his old form.

I wonder how many alcoholics there are in the NHL right now. With the whole tough-guy, play-through-pain attitude the sport has, there have gotta be a lot of guys self-medicating to handle the pain and pressure.

Awesome

Hated him on the Flames but after reading his story afterwards was really hoping the guy would have a comeback.

Great story.

If you don't know his story, have a read.

A much more thorough story.

Situation got so bad that even Evander Kane got involved.

Devin's talent is unquestionable. There were many situations with the Jets where he looked like he had all-star potential. Sadly there were many more where he was flat out benched for the shape he was in.

Regardless, he's been sober & clean for the past year & a half, & a healthy Setoguchi could be a fantastic acquisition. All the best to him!

Wish him the best, but he's still pretty raw. Alcoholism takes a long time to recover from.
