Draft a shooter that's not great at forechecking.

Bench him because he's not great at forechecking.

Attempt to trade him, but no value because no ice time.

Waive him.

King's should only draft hard working grinders from now on & stop wasting everyone's time.

Edit: Look for a shooter on a cheap contract at the deadline because of lack of cap space.

Sorry, RHP? What are the knocks on Kaliyev? He's young and cheap enough that I suspect that he'll get claimed.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard - Stats, Contract, Salary & More from Montreal. Broke his leg during off-season training and came back in November. Got waived after his conditioning stint ended because he wouldn't get in above anyone on the roster. Heineman stole the spot that might have been his if healthy.

For Kaliyev, it's mostly issues about skating. Not the best defensively either.

Not sure about that. In their last game, they sat both Reichel and Kurashev. Lots of forwards in Chitown right now.

Kurashev blows, Hawks should claim Kaliyev and waive Kurashev sending him to Rockford (No one probably wants him)

At this point Hawks should look to move on from Reichel as forcing him into 4C role has been dumb and they dont appear to have any desire to give him a top 9 W look

This reminds me a little of when the Ducks gave up too early on Palmieri. (At least they were able to get something back for him, even if it turned out looking bad). Similar disappointing stats early on but yet showed enough that you knew they had more to give. Hope for the Kings sake, he goes unclaimed and they get a do over with him but he’s likely to be claimed.

One of those flashy prospects who is really good at shooting but not at hockey
Its more of an off-ice issues with Kaliyev.

He quit on the team and demanded a trade last year. He had been scheduled for a prime spot with Dubois and Fiala last year, but got suspended late in camp. When Dubois messed his pants and Fiala, once again, proved that he cannot play with anyone with skill, the line was dismantled and Kaliyev was pushed down to the 4th line. He wanted out. He would show up to practice and games and leave immediately after, not involving himself in any team activities.

This is a talented kid who got caught up in the Kings piss poor developmental program, then handled it in the worst way. THAT is why they couldn't get even a 4th for him at the draft, the word is out on him. He needs to rebuild his image to be given another chance.

As a King's fan, hope he gets claimed by a team that will give him a shot. Might be rough going coming back from a shoulder injury.

This is what drives me nuts, people referring to little known players by their initials thinking everyone else knows. I mean, this NH player is getting poor treatment too, maybe he ends up on waivers

You clearly missed out on the 30 game RHP mania. Your loss tbh

An interesting post. An incredible amount of assumption and "insider information" stuff known only to the writer.
His agent demanded a trade- he didnt. I guess we can all project about potential future lines-its kinda like telling horoscopes or being a gypsy fortune teller.
Character assasination via rumor and innuendo.

You would have done better writing the truth on this guy that he got caught up in the kings piss poor development plan and just leaving it there
