He was fairly solid last season, but coming back from injury this season he looked pretty bad. Might've expected a 5th or 6th though, but still, Blashill seemed to have hated him from day one, was even scratching him last season. I just want every vet possible traded for anything at this point from the Wings.

This is simply a case of the Kings needing bodies, and avoiding the waiver risk.

Good depth move. LA is down on defenseman badly (Doughty, Anderson, Bjornfot, Roy, Walker on LTIR) and it's killing the AHL team too. So bring him on and drop a dman or two to Ontario to help both teams. And when the NHL core is healthy then Stecher becomes 7th or 8th dman (maybe AHL help). Cheap move to cover for injury insurance.

People need to realize he’s not the same player he was. He’s been horrible and injured.

I have no idea what happened in Detroit but he was a terrific #5 defender in Vancouver.

Smart teams would also put him on the PK where he has always killed it.
