The players also commented how fast-paced the game was.

It kind of puts to bed that whole "Kings are too slow" mantra we hear from unknowledgeable hockey fans. I've seen some insanely fast games this season, both in person and on TV. Kings can skate with the best of them.

Sometimes I watch the games, having played at a decently high level, and go "yeah I would have made that play, and that one, and that one." Then you get to ice level and realize the sightlines and defensive blockades every single player puts up and go...nope!

Tonight it was like that on fast forward. Holy ****. I can't even explain it.

And we do have some 'slow' skaters but our team speed is much improved, but we can only look fast when we play with puck pace and the other team wants to oblige, like Chicago and Anaheim (tonight). Most teams just WANT us to slow down.

Really enjoying Lecavalier on the team so far, hes a big guy, throwing his weight around, still got those 1st overall hands going on too.

Nice to see another trade work out for both teams, a good ol hockey trade.

Also, said it in the pregame, love that Kopitar/Kesler matchup...-2 for Kes. Funny what a difference a year makes, wonder if boudreau will give up on that matchup too ;)

Can't hide all your centers from Kopi, Bruce.

so Pearson playing under 10min..WTH. Not saying he deserves more as he was pretty invisible, but jesus I had high hopes for him. Hopefully he turns it around.

Brown's lack of physicality is mind boggling.

This team in the 3rd scars the crap out of me. You would think after Saturday afternoon they would come out stronger in the 3rd than they did.

So, I'm curious how many of Quick's goals against have been deflections or screened point shots? They seem to be his kryptonite. "Shoot high" has always been the book on him, because he plays the percentages so welI (plays at the top of the crease; covers the lower part of the net), and maybe opposing clubs have figured it's easier to "deflect high" than it is to shoot in in close, in traffic.

Or maybe it's just plain old hockey 101; screen the goalie, get deflections.

I suppose the way to find out how many of these have beaten him is to review the game logs and tally them up. Do any of the nerd stat sites track this sort of thing?

Brown's lack of physicality is mind boggling.

He seems to be all upper body. Which is probably one reason he's always twirling to the ice. He wasn't the only one that had no legs as the game went on though.

I'm willing to wait and see. Not whether or not Brown can get his game back, because that doesn't seem to be possible anymore. But in terms of how they look come playoff time. Guys like Brown and Gaborik. So far this season, they haven't really been needed. They come and go, from one game to the next. Maybe you get something from them, maybe not. If the main guys are going, they can get away with that in the regular season.

Provided the Kings make the playoffs, they'll be needed more, and hopefully they'll be there.

I like that top 6. felt for carter lossing both lucic and TT off his wings.
That 3rd line should be able to produce every third game or so at least too

Another thing about this game is that I liked Martinez with Schenn. While they weren't the best line ever last night, I think getting them used to playing with each other and comfortable is a good strategy for the future. If that line gets rolling, we'll be able to roll Muzzin-doughty up top.

I wonder what kind of deal Schenn will be looking for. His current hit is $3.6M. I doubt he takes less than that.
