I admit my fandom may have gone a tad overboard as of late.Yes. Sorry. - I meant laineboom is the terrible result of when a habs fan and a Laine fan combine. Double the crazy.

Dude you're nothing compared to some of the old farts that posted here when he was drafted, they actually thought he would be better than Matthews.I admit my fandom may have gone a tad overboard as of late.
Oh yea I remember psychodad. The crazyness I believe was explained due to him being a Rauman Lukko fan as well.Dude you're nothing compared to some of the old farts that posted here when he was drafted, they actually thought he would be better than Matthews.
What hairSometimes I feel like I am Laine. If I only had his shot, or his frame, or his rugged good looks.
Laine has grown his hair out btw, I think him getting his flow back is essential.
You've got a problem.Laine before 4 nations:
- playing in 4th line with nobodies
- hated by his former teams and their fanbases.
- trade value even worse than before.
- lazy, no points in last 8 games, playing very bad.
Laine during 4 nations:
- top 6 forward playing with top NHL players.
- loved by his teammates and fans.
- can pot 1-2 PP goals per game and points on ES.
- happy, hard working, looking like a stud.
Laine after 4 nations?
- a prime trade asset.
- adored by fans all around the league.
- potting PP goals AND playing with top guys of Habs.
- looking like a new man, showing leadership qualities.
IMO Laine is THE biggest winner of 4 nations if the "during" part of this post materializes.
Thoughts? Any other big winners? We can also use this thread to keep track of goals and points of Laine, post videos of his best moments from each game etc.
Are we talking Al Iafrate special ?Sometimes I feel like I am Laine. If I only had his shot, or his frame, or his rugged good looks.

I don't hate Laine, I'd still take him back on the Jets. I watch hockey to be entertained and Laine is very entertaining. Yeah, he has his flaws, but I think the rest of the team can make up for them easily.
Habs fan hoping like heck Laine has a good week and somehow their GM can parlay that into some kind of trade that does not cost the Habs a pick or prospect AND retention.what the hell is this?
You can just call them his parents you know.He may be immature and says & does dumb things, but I believe he wants to be better than he actually is. He wants to be as good as his fans want him to be. And that's hard to hate. And I'd imagine it's hard to try and live up to the expectation his God given abilities (tall, HoF shot) on a "night in - night out" basis.
Totally OK to hate him though. That makes sports and rooting for a team so much more enjoyable. I hate Nash not because he left for NYR, but I don't think ( at the time) he cared about getting better as a player or teammate. He was just going along for the ride while everyone worshipped him. So no, I'm not a kind hearted person lol
From what I've "heard" (don't ask for sources) and my own gut instinct is; Laine has been a celebrity in Finland his whole life, came to America as a superstar. He doesn't need to grow up because his money and the success he's already experienced. Seen it too many times, most of them fizzle out; it's too pathetic to hate. You can just call them his parents you know.
This guy is two years from 40. At his current rate of aging he'll be there by April. He and Brock Nelson will be comparing deals they got on grills this summer.
