Greatest shot in the league but he really isn't buying himself a lot of goodwill with the 'It's everybody's fault but mine' attitude.
Ok , things weren't working in Columbus for him and hope he does well in the future but maybe show some accountability in the future.
It’s a really dumb move. Things were going really well and he needlessly created controversy.

"Mirror, mirror..."

That back and forth wasn't a conversation ?
I mean, I ask questions, you don’t answer them… so no.

So what is it about a 14.6% change in percentage equates to “easily?” Specifically, if you please.

If you were to apply that percentage change in goals scored to a 50-goal scorer, you’re looking at ~57 goals scored to 50 goals scored. Would that make one player “easily” a better goal scorer, or simply “better?”

And the idea that you choose percentage change over percentage points difference is disingenuous, at best. Two players—one scores 50 goals, one scores 55 goals. Would you present a difference in 10% instead of 5 goals?

That is not what he has ever said. Have you not seen Laine blaming himself and being hard on himself? Because people who have watched his career, and apparently his therapist, understand that's his biggest enemy.

It's absolutely fair to call him out for stupid media literacy, giving this fodder to his haters. What he said was exactly what CBJ GM said about the same situation and everyone agreed with it then, so Laine isn't wrong in saying that. He just should not have said it.

He was just the wrong person to say that, because from the GM the exact same message was actually celebrated.

I just don't accept this "blaming everyone but himself" narrative that's attempted here. We're talking about one of the most famously harsh on themselves personalities who have actually sought help for that problem. It's not what happened here, so why are people now pretending this guy always blames everyone else? History says otherwise so, why?

"Frustrating when you are trying to win and some people, you know, are not like that."

From the guy paid by the team to take a fortnite break. Possibly one of the most tone deaf idiots to play in the NHL. I need to stop there.. I would be wanting to fight him every time we played.

This from one of the softest, laziest players the NHL knows. I would not want to be the team that signs this man child long term.
All it took for CBJ and Werenski to get motivated again was Laine calling them out. They should be thanking him.

Are you not the one who's disingenuous - or trying to throw powder or sand in the eyes of the reader - by concentrating on 1.9 rather than 14,6 ?

Except CBJ is already ahead of them in the standings and Werenski is at a PPG this season. And the Habs cap is 90m and they got beat by a team with a 70m.

Massive addition by subtraction.
Still waiting for that subtraction to turn back into an addition, but how much of that was from removing a player who wasn't around much anyways, only Habs management will know.

Be interesting to see if they re-sign him in a couple years.

I would not immediately doubt if there is more of a rift between Laine and Werenski, but not really the rest of them.

Werenski is a fantastic defenseman and he is as important to CBJ as Makar, Josi or Hughes are to their teams. There are 4 of these defensemen in the league (and I have 3 of them in 16 team fantasy league muahahah).

Werenski runs CBJ play. He is a shoot first defenseman and left handed. That's why Laine had 18 goals in 3 cbj seasons on PP and pretty much half of it in two weeks with canadians.

Laine played RD on PP, in Columbus removing one timer option, because the PP runs through Werenski. In Montreal Hutson understands what to do with Laine. Werenski didn't want to. I wouldn't be shocked if that caused words

When your subtraction is to the cap floor you're not going anywhere.
Ahead of 10 other teams. And what's that say about CBJ core right now. Adding 3 or 4 players like Monahan and getting Jenner back would be insane depth. And if you add a high end player at the deadline or FA, do you think last night game would have been as close as it was?

I'll save my judgment for when they add that high-end free agent instead of losing them.

Waddell was talking about Laine when making those comments, it was pretty obvious.

Why would that be obvious about someone he barely ever met?

Laine didn't know he was talking about him because Laine is oblivious to everything outside of his bubble.

Waddell was definitely referencing culture, management. Not any single player.

You've interpreted that, and frankly makes no sense. Waddell said he knew nothing about Laine and had very little communication.

But OBVIOUSLY he was talking about Laine, how could I have missed the obvious lol

I led with it, you corrected and concentrated on it. I’ve since clarified my meaning—a meaning you’ve claimed you understand.

In the post you quoted I have asked you to explain why you think a 14.6% difference in percentage constitutes the qualifier “easily”. No answer.

Would you care to answer any of my other questions? Ffs, guy, I’m attempting an actual debate with you. So debate.
