Hart Trophy - The award that is supposed to go to the most valuable player in the league has been going too often for a player that is not MVP of the league by any means as they have zero to little effect for their team’s success.
Now it is time to make a stop for that clueless behaviour and finally delve in the statistics and find the most valuable player in the league.. And i don’t think there will be any argument to take it away from Patrik Laine after seeing his effect for the Canadiens!
Before Laine came in, Montreal was on their way to a terrible season. Their stats without Laine: 25 points in 33 games, 82 game pace 62 points. Worst in the conference, fighting of 2nd worst team spot with Chicago who ended up with 61 points.
After Laine arrived and made a splash immediately: 66 points in 49 games, 82 game pace 110 points. Carried a bottom-dweller to a playoffs. Washington won the conference with 111 points.
Has there ever been more undebatable Hart Trophy season than this one?
