The guy had 18 PPG in the 174 games before this season so I wouldn't call him a PP specialist. Needs to show more 5 on 5 but his linemates are arguably the worst players in the league and he's missed a whole year of hockey. Pretty good all things considered.

I made the mistake of going to two games against the Habs, and their fans were so incredibly drunk and belligerent that I swore off ever going to a Habs game again. They literally were pissing on the sidewalk while chanting Ole. I love Montreal as a city (and considered going to McGill), and I know there are terrible fans everywhere, but this was next level.

Let me clarify. The Gabs have the most passionate fans. They love hockey and their club. Laine is loved by them. I hope he understands how special that is and stays there for the rest of his career. Montreal is a very special place to play when the fans love the player. No place like it.

That's not true. There may have been some people who disliked it, but for the most part, Habs fans were excited about the trade.

Laine scores from further distance in general, Matthews is a better overall goal scorer for sure. He scores a lot of goals from areas that Laine scores very few goals from, close to the net. Laine uses a pretty flexible stick which is really long, and it's not very useful in net front puck battles.

Distance shooting goes to Laine. Wrist or onetimer.
