Those results are with 4 of the 12 highest paid players in the game and with a Rielly/OLE that = 60% of Leafs entire Salary Cap.

One of the very obvious reasons their PP has been awful, these stars are absolutely allergic to the front of the net.

Just watching some other games' highlights the past few nights I see how other teams constantly move & switch positions on the power play. And when one of their players gets the puck low, even behind the goal line, they'll carry it (quickly) right out in front for either a shot or a cross-crease feed.

The Leafs almost never do that. When Mitch or Willie get it low they immediately send it back to the wall where the other one or Matthews usually sends it back to the point or dances around waiting for someone to get open. It's mostly the same at even-strength: Very rarely will any of these guys attack the net. But when they do, a goal is often the result.

A periphery team and opponents are perfectly content to keep them out there.

Leafs played well enough to win, Woll did not even if you only put the 3rd goal on him, that was the back breaker, they had all the momentum, and then he made the stupid decision to play the puck and because he made the stupid decision to play the puck he gave it away and the Blues scored.

Even if you only put the 3rd goal on him Joseph Woll blew that game.

Hopefully Stolarz goes tonight.
They really didnt

I think the simple fact is that our 'net front presence' isn't. JT has to go.

Leafs scored 1 goal.

So Woll had to post a shut-out for him to be good enough?

With the talent one would have to believe this is untrue, but actuals are actuals. Everything in hockey is determined by actuals, not expectations.

However, perhaps it indicates a lack of creativity or just plain arrogant laziness.

With 4 of the highest paid players in the game the Leafs are currently #29th of 32 teams in PP% running at an embarrassing 11.1 %.

3 goals on 27 PP chances. Time to get Marner and even Tavares off PP#1 and on to PP#2 and balance the attack across the full 2 minutes.

Leafs could use a goalie who can steal a few games here and there
Or they could use a few 10mil plus forwards and Rocket winners to score a few goals and steal a few games.

Leafs could have the worse goalie in net but if their forwards can’t score esp in the PP, they ain’t winning a lot of games.

...I'm been saying this for years too.

This is the excuse in the playoffs too. 'Leafs need contribution from their depth players, and better goalies." Even Marner alluded to it after 2023 loss.

With what money? The Leafs goalies make a combined 4.8 million lol. You get what you pay for. Leafs have 4 guys making 47 million. They need to be game breakers like Kucherov. They can't play like 6-8 million dollar players and expect their low paid co-workers to play above their pay scale.

This really is the problem with the Leafs. And I'm talking over the last 5 years, not just this year.

What happened? Like seriously what happened? They were playing very structured hockey prior to the last two games. Did they collectively forgot? Or is there a huge flu bugs in the locker room.
They quit on Tre and the coach. History shows the fans are way smarter than the management. We have been willing to move on for years. They are junk. Berube just makes it obvious now. Shanny is pure garbage. He hires Dubas who is just below the average 13 year old fan.
