I'm sure Gaborik and some non-elite Americans (Lewis, Martinez etc) will go as they will never get an Olympic invite.

Doughty has previously been quoted saying that he thinks the World Championships are a joke, so I wouldn't count on it, wouldn't be shocked if Carter felt the same way.

Unpatriotic? Did you miss them playing in multiple Olympics and the garbage World Cup of Hockey which ruined Gaborik's season?

The majority of people in North America couldn't care less about the World Championships and I would be livid if another one of the Kings' key players sustained a severe injury playing in the WC

The World Championships are kind of a joke.

I think it's a good development tournament for younger players. Certainly woudn't mind seeing Pearson getting an opportunity to play.
