Weekes: LA Kings Brandt Clarke on the move?

Clarke will almost certainly be on the move soon. To the AHL, not in a trade.

It’s not Blake’s MO to trade a young guy when he has this much value. He has to spend a few years shuffling him up and down the lineup and to and from Ontario and eroding most of his trade value before Clarke can be shipped out. When he finally breaks out in 2027 and has a decent 1st round in Kings vs Oilers part 6 then he will be ready to be traded for an overpaid vet who is ready to play “Kings hockey”.

I would absolutely love it if Clarke is to be traded, because it means another incredibly fun blockbuster to debate, since everyone here agrees he holds enormous value. Bergevin was an absolutely terrible GM overall, but he did pull off a few great trades, so maybe his influence can help for once.

It could very well be VGK-Kings this season, unless somehow Calgary or Vancouver takes 3rd place.

Oof, imagine if they trade Clarke and he turns into another Faber? Kings fans must be on pins and needles with Blake at the helm.

Well if you think what they would want in return, a first line power forward who is 22 years old is a great center piece. Also not like Clarke is established as a #1 D either
RHD are like impossible to find, which is why teams like the Leafs give a 35 year old Tanev six years and full NMC, and just shrug their shoulders about any future consequences as a later problem. How many 21 and Under RHD are as good or better than Clarke right now and going forward? Not many.. I would always bet on finding a "Matthew Knies" laying around than a Brandt Clarke.

So, why is Clarke a healthy scratch ?

Also, make Bergevin the GM so he can take Gallagher and probably give the Habs Clarke

...and hire Therrien as head coach...

Probably about time. He's starting to show the type of progress that Vilardi was before they punted him down the road.

I kid, this makes absolutely no sense and i call BS.

It really is uncanny

He was rolling along at PPG and nearly 70% xgf% and then suddenly Hiller started making cryptic comments about "yeah but can he play DEFENSE" then suddenly started cutting his minutes including ripping him off PP1

meanwhile since january started the Kings cannot score in any situation, Gavrikov and Anderson and humming along at 20% GF%, and you have Clarke's partner Edmundson leading the charge out of the zone like he's Paul Coffey leading to 2- and 3-on-1s on Clarke and guess which one is going to the bench

These guys cannot get out of their own way
