Post-Game Talk: LA drowning in Oil tonight

The craziest stat of the night be just be Brett Kulak leading the team in TOI. Just such a different player come playoff time
It's like a lot of our role players, they just rise to the occasion more in the playoffs. I know it can get frustrating as fans when the coach keeps playing 'his guys' in the regular season, but until proven otherwise, you trust that players like Janmark, Brown, Henrique, etc will bring it when it counts. And so far they are back, right on queue.

Too drunk to post last night and this morning LOL but what a game for Edmonton. Walman and Klingberg were excellent last night today along with Kane and Frederic. Very smart shot by Arvidsson on Janmarks game winner.

The depth got it done for the Oilers last night.

Jameson got it done for me last night

Funny 10 days ago we were talking about how dumb Bowman was for the Klingberg signing. And how Kane was going to be bought out this summer.
I never understood why adding Klingberg was ever a bad thing. We added him for nothing. He wasn't an obstacle in us adding at the deadline. We still got Walman. The worst case scenario with him is he'd count against the contract limit. And the ceiling was always high considering that surgery had the potential to make him better than he's been in years

Skinner has been garbage in the majority of his playoff starts and it’s not even close. 3 years in a row the backup had to come in and save his bacon because he was dropping the ball.

This skinner is playoff performer myth is ridiculous. He sucks in the playoffs.
Nailed it. There is literally nothing that says Skinner is a good playoff goalie. His playoff stats match Campbell’s regular season stats that first year here. He is statistically the worst goalie in the cap era. Steve Valiquette called him a “non-nhl goalie” against the rush. @Drivesaitl pointed out how he can’t play pucks that go from behind the net to in front- something Woodley said last playoffs. He isn’t good.

10 days ago Klingberg was still playing like the game had passed him by, and Kane was still hurt. He's been arguably our best forward this series aside from McDavid and Drai. It is funny that opinions on players can change so rapidly though.

A slower more veteran team like this version of the Oilers may not be great at all times during the regular season (which we often saw)... but when push comes to shove during the playoffs at the most important time of the year.. you can usually count on these saavy veterans to crank up their game and they know what it takes to win in the playoffs. Thats why guys like Kane, Perry, Klingberg and Janmark are so valuable to keep around for this time of year.

In a hyperbaric chamber 24/7. ;)
That visual although comedic, makes me think of unfortunate individuals with polio and the use of iron lungs so many years ago.

Can’t imagine that was comfortable back in the day. However, the alternative was decidedly worse…I saw one in a museum once, a worker there told me that they were so noisy when they operated that there was no chance of sleeping or rest. What a horrible existence.

Great photo..

Pretty sure he had the worst save % of any starter in the playoffs last year as well. lol. My biggest worry is pickard has a bad game and they go back to that plug Stu for game 7. 😕
That's what I'm worried about too. Even if we give up 50 shots and lose 3-2, someone in the organization will want to start Skinner again.

He's just gotta win next game. The toughest thing will be if he loses a close game and then Knob goes back to skinner.

Gotta wonder if Hiller is done with the Kings if they lose this series. His decision to challenge that goal in game 3 likely turned the series around. That was an obvious coaching blunder. To me what’s been worse had been his handling of the roster. He’s shortened his bench by 5 players for most of this series. I’ve never seen anybody else do that for stretches as long as he has. If you can’t play certain guys, don’t dress them. Dress other guys and use them. Gotta figure he’s losing his room. To top it off, from watching the post game pressers it sounds like the LA media hates him too.

It’s fun watching the Oilers destroy franchises in the post season. First with Calgary, then Vancouver and now the Kings.
He had Kempe playing defence in the 3rd period LOL
