Post-Game Talk: LA drowning in Oil tonight

Body language alone, Pickard is miles ahead of Skinner. He just seems like he's always in the fight and always giving it his all for the team. Pickard seems like the kind of goalie who'd catch a puck barehanded if that's what it took.
To that end, my first red flag with Skinner was the whole MarioKart storyline heading into the SCF last year. McDrai were vocally dismissive of it and trying to focus on the Cup, but Skinner seemed to take it from a team bonding exercise to a distracting gimmick.

Or maybe I'm just being overly petty from recency bias.

You don't see the genius of putting your best forward on D in what is basically an elimination playoff game?
Kempe must be scratching his head.

Just think if Knob put McDavid or Drai back there. Pucks off the glass and out. Good grief. Because if you want them going to the net to do their thing with their skills, why start them 30 feet further back from the intended target?

Hillier and genius are two words that can not be used in the same sentence.

Sounds like a select few of our hfoil brethren

No kidding. You either show up in both wins and losses or just stfu

I get hating on select players (I’m guilty of that) but when your feed is constant negativity about the entire team all season year in year out…perhaps you need to change teams lol

Maybe one of them is Spec

Kane, buddy. Kane.
Big Dick energy is a real thing. The inclusion of Kane has completely flipped this series (along with Pickard calming things of course), all the Oilers are playing bigger and bolder with him in the lineup. All they needed was that one spark and Kane's Game 3 performance completely changed the complexion of this series. People still want to buy him out this offseason? Pffft

Not gonna lie and say I expected this, I thought he was done for the season as an effective top 6 level player, but I always knew that a healthy and functional Kane was a game changer. If Frederic can get up to speed, that's some serious depth and toughness in the lineup now.

What can you say about this guy? Maybe the biggest pleasant surprise of the playoffs so far for the Oilers? I didn't even have him in the lineup at the start of the playoffs

I always thought he was ahead of Emberson. Mainly because the coaching staff was playing him like 18+mins a game. But tough regular season with him coming back and then whatever injury happened. Hes a difference maker out there now. Wonder if we keep him on for 1 or 2 year deal next year.

Reactions: Oilhawks
Also it’s amazing how both the Leafs and Oilers have 3-2 series leads and yet one team feels like they’re on a funeral march and the other feels like things are just getting started.
Imagine if the Leafs blow a 3-0 series lead to their "little brother" in Ontario of all teams? Anybody who wants to see HF chaos, well that would be the peak of chaos if that occurred.

Near perfect game from everyone.

This kind of game was my expectation coming into the year. It’s nice to have found it. Kane was unreal. Picard made timely saves when we needed and the rest of the team carried the play.

I feel like this is the first game we’ve seen the team play to their potential. LA must be running scared right now. They look gassed and done. Keep the foot to the gas and beat finish this off in Edmonton.

Another embarrassing moment for the league. But come bet on our games!

The refs should be under investigation for gambling on games after that display last night, that and the non-call on Kane was as blatant as game management gets. I get that missed calls happen and I'm sure there were a few less obvious ones on the Oilers that went uncalled but considering the moments in the games that these non-calls happened, sus as hell.

Miss a penalty shot (by the 3rd the refs would know they screwed this up badly) and call a penalty on us that was maybe the 300th worst infraction done by a player in the game for the sake of game management.

This league and refs are shameless.
I'm actually still upset about the non-call on Kane. Absolutely bury a guy from behind and he goes flying into the net? To not call that is just blatant match fixing and corruption. There is no way around it. It was f***ing EGREGIOUS.

Imagine if Kane had done that? F*ck sakes, he would have been suspended for the rest of the playoffs. Maybe the rest of his life. Also, Byfield or Kempe would have laid in the net acting like they were dead so the refs would call a major. Absolute p***yes that entire LA team. Edmonton gets f***ed for many reasons and then their players don't dive and sell calls so they end up getting f***ed again. Like don't the refs watch the game and not get tired of getting embarrassed by guys goading them into calls?

This league is so cooked.

f*** LA! f*** THE REFS! The boys will win anyways.

Picks made that Fiala wrap around save look so easy late in the third. Stu doesn’t get there to stop it.

In a game we throughly dominate, PPs 3-2 for them. Seems impossible.

Mad props to Kane. Scores a goal, sends a message but stays controlled against Gavrikov and doesn’t kill Clarke for that ridiculous cross check.

Stu would still be wondering where the puck went but he would also know that it wouldn’t be his fault.
