Post-Game Talk: LA drowning in Oil tonight

I think Kaner really put a hurting on Kempe. He isn’t skating like he usually does and his cocky arrogant look has been replaced by extreme concern. As for young Clarke, I just hope Kane keeps it legal next game but Clarke is going to be fubar.
I mentioned it during the game, I think Kane and Clarke will meet "next season" and Clarke will have a "bad time" answering for what he did lol.

You also might be right about Kempe, but I think they're running out of gas too, plus it seems like Kempe played the 2nd half of the game on defense.

Have to admit, I was clenching a little bit esp when LA took the lead. The way we were dominating and could beat fking kuemper was criminal and we all know how those games usually end .....

Very impressive effort. After the Oil got down 0-2, game five (assuming they got there) was always going to be the key game. They HAD to win at least one game in L.A,, and this was it.

You can kind of tell from this game that the game four loss was in the LA players' heads and they hadn't recovered. I was laughing my ass off at that loooong two-on-one (in the first?) with Kuzmenko (who, to be fair, scored later) when he stopped up and tried the behind-the-back pass... to nobody. Just completely whiffed on a Grade-A scoring chance. That's when I knew the Oil were in their heads.

But Edmonton completely dominated and the score flatters L.A.

I thought Wallman and Nurse and Bouchard were all very good. It was certainly the best defensive effort since Ekholm went down.

Kane didn't take any penalties (a bonus!) and he even made two very noticeable huge defensive efforts. And he scored! Credit to him.

Janmark got it done in a really big moment. Brutal rebound by Kuemper on that one!

In this series so far, the Oilers are collectively +29 and the Kings are collectively -29. Edmonton has owned LA at evens. It's just the Kings' PP and the Oilers' brutal PK that has even made this a series.

Not sure if the guys can keep up this level of intensity to close it out in game six, but I sure hope so. Please no game 7 in L.A.
Good summary.

Kane has been beyond impressive and Klingberg a nice surprise too.

Oh, and Jim Hillier is an absolute clown for a coach. I can’t understand what he’s trying to accomplish with his “approach”.

You don't see the genius of putting your best forward on D in what is basically an elimination playoff game?

that challenge in game 3 is looking dumber every day.

I wonder what or why the GM’s and league leadership or lack there of doesn’t protest loudly as there were significant missed calls, two dangerous non calls Hymans knee/leg was slew footed and cross check to Kane, obvious tafgetung on McDavid (many good hockey plays) but to cross check him when hes on the ice? clear covering of the puck with hands. Many other games with similar issues. Game management is and has gone way too far and devaluation from fan experience penalties should be penalties its too clear and obvious non-calls
