Wouldn’t be much of an upgrade if any. No need to go and waste a first round pick

Kuemper's caphit is $5.25m so the max LA could retain is $2.625m (i.e. 50%).

It's kind of an interesting idea but not really worth a 1st round pick. And Kuemper still has three years left including this one which is quite unappealing at his age.
