Just the usual people salivating to shit on the Jets. Been a tough season for them up to this point so they're getting their money's worth.

The game the Jets are playing is extremely demanding and you can see it's taking a toll. Add in the heavy schedule and travel and that everyone's trying to take down the big dog and you can see why we're a bit flat right now.

Id like to see the Jets be able to recognize this and adjust their game when needed. Play a more defensive game and look for counters. That would be good for us come playoff time when things tighten up.

Id also love to see Arniel give guys the odd night off, especially when they're looking tired. Not only will it refresh them and give someone else an opportunity, but when guys get tired they're more susceptible to injury.

First guy I'd rest is Schiefele. His game has fallen off a cliff the past week.

Thompson should buy the Jets a jumbo jet with lay flat beds and trainer areas so guys can get therapy work done as they travel
Yep give Slow Gus a few games.
Surprised by people being down on Heiny I mean I thought he has been great and will be better than chis. People will be down on whoever is in that 3rd line 6th man spot.

Wrong. The Jets do not match up well against teams that play heavy and hard. I think upgrades are required .

Do you think the Jets are truly a #1 team? I do not get the sense they are a juggernaut but they are good. Should make the playoffs but not sure they will go far.
Ok it’s easy to call down any team after a bad performance so since you are the expert please tell us who the number one team is so we can all make easy money on betting with your expert advise.

Can someone make a Debbie Downer thread for the happy people who enjoy calling the Jets after a loss. I would but I am not allowed my privileges got taken away lol.
Everyone who watched the game knows that was not their A game no need to call down a top team unless of course you are not a fan of the Jets and that’s why there’s 31 other team threads.
And no I do not block anyone I read everyone’s opinions but some people who didn’t watch the game start repeating and believing the negative comments which is sad.

That's the beauty of retirement (so I hear), do whatever the heck you want.
The problem with retirement is that (for most people) your mind turns to mush and your body doesn't do half the things you want to.

Well I'd offer but Buffdog would shit himself that it was creepy.

Scheifele doesn't look healthy to me, maybe he needs to take a week off and deal with whatever it is he's dealing with. He's not helping the team out there right now.
His legs look fine, but it’s like he’s playing with one working arm. Loses just about every puck battle, and loses possession so easily when trying to make plays off the rush.

Seemed like it started in the Nashville game. Maybe against Pittsburgh? But that was such a no show opponent that you couldn’t really tell.

It's his second game after a horrific year. He gets a lot of rope with me

I think it's his hand after that fight

Playing .500 on the road.
The winning streak was great.
Let’s just learn from these games
All the teams are gearing up to play the Jets since we currently the best team in NHL and every game is going be tough playoff like game
Is it too early to prepare for playoffs ?

The team is obviously off to a great start to the season being first overall at U.S. Thanksgiving. Hopefully the struggles we’re seeing on this road trip are indeed just due to fatigue and key guys being banged up and not some inevitable return to inconsistent efforts and the faintly distressing sense that this core isn’t capable of delivering come playoff time.

No he won't talk about that, he'd rather complain about Pionk and Stanley.

I hate to single out Ehlers but man he's a vet, and proclaimed to be some mega star stats darling but he seems to totally lack the ability to step up when needed.

That second line really needs a guy who actually gets shit done and can actually drive that line to results, like a Lowry.

Id still like to see Kupari get a shot at centering that line. I know I know, the kid doesn't produce points like we would like to see but his speed and forecheck along with his faceoff ability might be able to open up looks for 91 and 27.

I'm guessing Namestnikov is pretty banned up right now. That guy takes such a beating night in and night out
I'd like to see this as well, to see if it will add some spark. Kupari doesn't have the best scoring hands, but he can set up Ehlers and Perfetti to do the scoring on that 2nd line. Names is good, and he hustles, but maybe they could rotate them in that position, and see what happens. I'd very much like to see this. Kupari is a very fast penetrating forward.

I don't think that second line is terribly well constructed. I thought maybe they just needed some time to gel, but they've been worse lately. The Jets have had stable forward lines for most of the season so far and the chemistry just doesn't seem to be there for that line. Everything seems just a bit off kilter. Swapping Kupari and Names is probably worth a shot.

We definitely got outplayed, but if kupari scores that penalty shot, and one of JoMo or perfetti's posts goes in, different game. Oh well. Let's see how we shape out.

Fluery had beend good and Heinola is playing well all things considered

Totally. And on the issue of penalty shots, I see so many of these and breakaways where the skater comes flying in and tries to deke. Most of the time the goalie makes a great save because the skater's speed works against him.

What I'd much rather see is the skater take a quick wrist shot from between the circles. At that distance, the goalie has very little time to react and cover whatever hole is targeted. And if the puck does hit the goalie, there's still a chance of a rebound which, on a breakaway, the skater can bury.

No excuses still the #1 team in the league but seriously have you watched the majority of the Jets games this year?
Yes LA gets some credit but it was the Jets who did not play their A game.
LA needed 2 deflections and a missed assignment to win the game that is not going to happen too often against the Jets.
The blue print to beat the Jets or any good teams is throw the puck deep into the corner and pressure the defensemen with 2 forecheckers.
Jets also stand out as the team having the fewest changes in all four lines since regular season start. To me, this is analogous to a herd of elk standing still while you pick out the bull you want..
Naturally our early/season combinations were somewhat new to other teams, but sharp coaches probably took time to point out any cracks in the Jets’ armour.
And of course Sammy leaves big skates to fill.
