On one play, I noticed Scheifele was badly outraced to a puck. Maybe it's not a hand injury but a lower body injury? Or it could be something like the flu.

Exactly. Teams will use this as a blue print to beat the Jets. The positive posters look for excuses for losses but even in wins the pessimistic posters like me see the issues that will prevent them from making it out of round 1.
No excuses, the Jets looked like a very tired hockey team and they lost, nothing you can do about it but hopefully they have alot more energy against Vegas. But what i'm reading here is you aren't happy if the Jets win or lose. Jets win it's pure luck, Jets lose and see i told you the Jets were shit .

We’ll be fine , however I do think a rough patch is in the works for a bit.
We’re not looking great at the moment and the scheduling and injuries are probably factors as well.
A historic start with points banked is not a bad thing to have.
I’d be super impressed if we beat f**k Vegas in f**k Vegas, this to me will be telling on the resolve of the club.

Well deserved loss. The team is on a skid now. Lets see if the coaches make any adjustments. This is kind of a "statement loss" type of game.

I look at Dallas losing 6-2 to Chicago, Leafs getting blown out by Florida, Blues shut out a really good Devils team…….NHL season is a long grind and some nights, and some stretches of multiple games EVERY team looks flat. Last night the Jets had nothing and the Kings had the jump. It’s all part of the 82 game dance.

Flush the toilet and move on to Vegas where it won’t get any easier. Everbody knew this was going to be a really tough stretch on the schedule and that is exactly what it is.

Wrong. The Jets do not match up well against teams that play heavy and hard. I think upgrades are required .

No excuses still the #1 team in the league but seriously have you watched the majority of the Jets games this year?
Yes LA gets some credit but it was the Jets who did not play their A game.
LA needed 2 deflections and a missed assignment to win the game that is not going to happen too often against the Jets.
The blue print to beat the Jets or any good teams is throw the puck deep into the corner and pressure the defensemen with 2 forecheckers.
Do you think the Jets are truly a #1 team? I do not get the sense they are a juggernaut but they are good. Should make the playoffs but not sure they will go far.

Yeah, the bitchers gotta bitch and whine and moan. But when I woke up this morning we're still 1st overall in the league and 31 other teams can't claim that. I'll stand behind my team.

just went thru the entire central, closest was chicago playing flames wild then 3 days off and buffalo, nothing close to this and not going to waste my time doing the rest of the divisions
Just the usual people salivating to shit on the Jets. Been a tough season for them up to this point so they're getting their money's worth.

The game the Jets are playing is extremely demanding and you can see it's taking a toll. Add in the heavy schedule and travel and that everyone's trying to take down the big dog and you can see why we're a bit flat right now.

Id like to see the Jets be able to recognize this and adjust their game when needed. Play a more defensive game and look for counters. That would be good for us come playoff time when things tighten up.

Id also love to see Arniel give guys the odd night off, especially when they're looking tired. Not only will it refresh them and give someone else an opportunity, but when guys get tired they're more susceptible to injury.

First guy I'd rest is Schiefele. His game has fallen off a cliff the past week.

Eastern teams never have travel like this…
Thompson should buy the Jets a jumbo jet with lay flat beds and trainer areas so guys can get therapy work done as they travel

So what did you think of your boy Ehlers fly-by defending on the Kings GWG?
No he won't talk about that, he'd rather complain about Pionk and Stanley.

I hate to single out Ehlers but man he's a vet, and proclaimed to be some mega star stats darling but he seems to totally lack the ability to step up when needed.

That second line really needs a guy who actually gets shit done and can actually drive that line to results, like a Lowry.

Id still like to see Kupari get a shot centering that line. I know I know, the kid doesn't produce points like we would like to see but his speed and forecheck along with his faceoff ability might be able to open up looks for 91 and 27.

I'm guessing Namestnikov is pretty banned up right now. That guy takes such a beating night in and night out

Scheifele doesn't look healthy to me, maybe he needs to take a week off and deal with whatever it is he's dealing with. He's not helping the team out there right now.

Jets are running on fumes. Playing every other day with a tonne of travel between. I'll take going .500 to Xmas. It's why building up the cushion we did was huge.

Yes... and sending HFJets to the mental hospital...

Hmm, seemed I picked an ideal night to not watch the game. Looking forward to retirement when I can sleep in the next day without worry. Also a little frightened I may revert back to my 'restaurant ways' in retirement, staying up until 3 and getting up at 11.

On to the next one.
That's the beauty of retirement (so I hear), do whatever the heck you want.

Looks like the schedule is catching up with the Jets - most of us expected that when we saw what what coming.
Arniel will need to keep the guys on message through this - I won't be surprised if we struggle for a few more.
I'm not complaining - it had to happen and this point in the schedule was the logical time for it to happen.
Again IMO, coaching is critical right now - half this game is in your head and the Jets need to stay confident in their game plan.

If there are injuries, they need to sit - we can't continue to chase the top spot in the league if we have guys that are not healthy.
If you tack on the tough schedule on top of an injury, you're fighting a losing battle - again, coaching needs to be careful here.

The playoffs are a different beast all together i agree but i'm not worried about that right now. I am enjoying this ride of being 1st place in the NHL right now.

Agree and having a couple of days off so they can actually get a practice in wouldn't hurt either.

Well watching the entire 3rd period proved to be a colossal waste of time. I’ve never seen the team so inept in the offensive zone. Maybe tiredness setting in. Hoping for more energy on Friday night.

Exactly right Sip, and we need to get rid of Tiny Hiney, get Samberg back, get a big physical and talented R - defenseman, and another top 6 forward to be real contenders.

For now - the thrill is gone.
I’m still reserving judgment on tiny Heiny but man did he ever look small out there against the Kings!

LA Kings 4-1 win last night over the Jets, teams are 6-1 in their next game after losing to San Jose. Winnipeg Jets entered tonight off a win over the Minnesota Wild. With the loss tonight at LA. Teams are now 1-7 in their next game after beating Minnesota.
Minnesota plays a tough, physical brand a lot like the Jets.

They're playing pedal to the metal all gas no brakes every game.

I fully expect them to sputter out and run out of gas and fall back down to earth
