Kings have traded their first the last 2 years and don’t have a 2nd or 3rd this year so I think they have to keep their 1st. Far more likely to trade a prospect instead.
well the plan is to win now.
Kopitar and Doughty not getting any younger.
I think if the price is right they will trade that first again this year.
But for what ?

#21 won't get a great, or even vg player, unless he has age, contract, or injury issues. probably best to keep the pick, or possibly trade it for two of Utah's 2nds.

38+49 would that be enough for #21? Kings better off keeping pick and just drafting.

If management had any brain in their head, they would try and forget the names, Kopitar and Doughty and build the team around Byfield. We don’t have a chance this year to contend for the cup as we have far too many holes and question marks. We are in that black hole of being to good to fail and get good picks yet to bad to win playoff rounds.

If we keep giving up picks to stay neutral just to try and appease our two franchise icons the next thing we know is Byfield will be in his mid twenties and we will be rebuilding to try and get players to play with him that won’t be ready till he is exiting his prime.

Keep the pick unless you can package a Kaliyev with the pick to either move up in the draft or find another young player that can play along side Byfield, Clarke, Spence etc going forward.

What would be the ask for LA to trade his first pick this year ?

What are their needs ?
Top 4 LHD ?
Grid ?
Goalie ?
I should ask are you a Kings fan or who do you cheer for. Is there a reason you would target pick 21 if you’re not a Kings fan.

Is there a trade you were thinking of?

I could see Blake trading the pic to move back later in the first round if he adds another pic in the second or third round. We have sacrificed a lot of draft picks over the last few years.

Montréal

In that case the 26th plus the Colorado second pick maybe ?

Could see kings trying to add more picks in the draft, so a trade down

Mid to late 1st + mid to late 2nd give or take

Honestly I wouldn't be enough per "draft prospects hockey dot com". If we go by its trade points vlaue code:

Pick 21 is worth 6,000 pts. Picks 38 + 49 are worth 3,950 pts. You'd have to add the Utah Hockey Club picks 63 (1,025 pts) + 71 (760 pts) to get close.

Thus pick 21 (6,000 pts) for picks 38 + 49 + 63 + 71 (5,735 pts). And I don't think the Utah Hockey Club would do that unless the player they also could of wanted at pick #6 but passed is still there at 21. Unlikely right, but ....

Instead, I think the Kings would be smart to deal with Calgary. Kings picks 21 (6,000 pts) + 118 (295 pts) = 6,295 pts for Calgary's picks 28 (4,250 pts) + 41 (2,050 pts) = 6,300 pts.

I.e. Kings 21 + 118 for the Flames 28 + 41.

Or thinking differently,

The Kings player Kaliyev + 118 for the Flames 41.

or

The Kings player Kaliyev for the Utah Hockey Club's 49.

I'd be good with any of my 4 options.

Any worthwhile?

There is no win now.

The management had only one job, finishing the rebuild.
Instead they tossed the youngsters away for a doomed fantasy cup run for the old folks on the team who should have retired 3 years ago if they would be descend people.

We ride out the last 2 years of Kopitar and Doughty without any dignity and go right back into rebuild.

Sure, there could be a deal but all depends on what direction they want to take. Not sure what Utah's going to do at the draft so will find out.

Depends on whose available at 21, if only 1 player they like is in that range then probably no trade , if 2 or 3 then there's a chance, as long as they don't fall back to far.

Ehlers and #37 0A Pick for Mikey Anderson and #21. Kings still have Cap space for Zadorov. Anderson would be a good 2LD behind Morrissey, good contract and chemistry with Samberg.
