Seravalli: Kyrou #2 on Trade Target Board

Why would the blues trade him? He’s locked up at a reasonable number and is in his prime. If you can get another really good player I get it but getting a “package” for him makes no sense for the Blues.

If it's true that the Blues are dangling Kyrou (big IF), it would be to strenghten the team at either 2C and/or 2RD. There is no way I can see Army moving him for just 'a pick and a prospect kind of deal'. Blues are pretty deep on wing and can potentially deal a player out of a position of strength (for example: Kyrou, Holloway, Buchnevich, Neighbours, Snuggerud and Bolduc). Moving Kyrou would hurt as he might be the best of the bunch, but he also carries the highest caphit and would return a lot of value.

He is easily the best of the bunch.

Subban (to Nashville)
Stepan (to Arizona)
Sergachev

Bogosian (to Buffalo) is a lesser known case. Carter (to Columbus) and Richards were dealt a year in advance of theirs kicking in.

A looming trade clause has been a motivator for movement of quality NHL players in the past.

Both of Seravallis reasons don’t make sense. He’s got a great contract and he’s only 27. I can see him being moved for a long term RD but that’s about it.
