This thread was going to be about Brock Nelson but at least for the time being Fraser Minten has come up and produced, granted It's a very small sample size of only 4 games, but he's got 3 points and hasn't looked out of place.

I still expect them to target a center at the deadline but for now, Fraser Minten is filling in and doing well.

But the Leafs will probably still be looking for another forward even if Minten does prove ready to be the full time 3rd line center the focus will Just switch to the wing.

This is where Kyle Palmeri comes in.

Leafs top 6 is good, we all know that, the top 6 has been good for years, the issue has always been that 3rd line scorer.

Kyle Palmeri would give the Leafs the 3rd line depth option they need come playoff time.

Tampa and Michigan
Was enough to slap the lightning around every time we met the last several years.
Yikes, a leaf fan trash talking any cup-winning team is pretty laughable.

All joking aside, Tampa and Toronto are in similar-ish situations. Cap strapped and looking for budget buys. We are a few years ahead of you guys in cap hell though, so I understand the mentality of filling gaps with cheaper vet options.

Leafs are far from in cap hell. They have 22 million coming off the books in 6 months in 2 players alone. They have a bunch of prospects showing they are NHL ready and are quality players. They have found a franchise goalie in Woll, and managed to get a pretty deep team.

And if a Leafs fan is allowed to chirp any team, it is the one team they have beaten in a playoff series in the last 20+ years.

Parm will be in demand at the TDL, not much out there this year. Isles would be looking for a 1st for him. Scored 30 goals last year and playing well for us now. (Best player for us this year again).

Toronto doesn’t have a 2025 1st and I have no interest in seeing him moved for a useless bottom 6 forward and some prospect who’s career best is an AHL middle six role.

What is Toronto actually offering for Kyle that isn’t a bottom 6 forward/7th defenseman or overrated prospect? No there’s no interest in the extremely overhyped Nick Robertson either.

Please ignore this Leafs fan. There is never any patience here, and always looking for a knee jerk reaction.

Which RW is he playing ahead of? Marner, Nylander, Domi?? Which of those guys goes to the 4th line?

Minten has all of FOUR NHL games... put up some points, but shelled in possession.. he has earned more games, and should get them before the Leafs make a decision on what to do....but with that patience, is the possibility that he isn't fully ready, and the knee jerk reaction crew went out and obtained a RW that isn't really needed, when we actually do need a 3C....

Makes sense.

How about the Isles' give Lou a golden parachute instead, and then let Palmieri to grow his beard? Early start on the playoffs?
Keep talking about Lou like that and you may find yourself wearing some cement shoes at the bottom of a lake LOL.

Lou has been cooked forever, he never adapted to the new rules, he just kept on plugging holes while decimating the prospect pool. Just look how he left NJ, completely void of NHL talent and zero prospects.

Seems like a very odd destination for Palmieri. I could see a trade for JGP where NYI retains, but that's marginal vs. buying him out. Don't seem like good trade partners.

Saying the Leafs have beat one team in the playoffs in the last 20 years is not the chirp you think it is. Has it actually only been 1 team though (seriously asking as I don't actually know)?

Yes it is accurate, but it is not a chirp just spitting facts. If a Leaf fan is allowed to chirp one fanbase, it is the one fanbase the Leafs have beaten in that time

Did not know it had been that long but next time say something like "we still beat you in the playoffs a few years ago." Don't mention the 20 years.
