It's till his 1st try of rookie season.

He was very experienced rookie in his rookie season, he wasn't some kid pulled from the juniors this past season.
Which helps to put up point, on top of playing with 2 of the best players in the league.

very experienced? he played one year in college after being drafted and then played 20 games in the nhl
9 games. 20 games. the cut is 25 games

I could come up with a bunch of excuses. like maurice's coaching new players/how he builds line ups and the roster
but the fact is. his official rookie year. he was pretty good. snd even in the playoffs he did alright
you see that move he did on Nashville??

He's a winger at the end of day which really hurts his value, unless you want to compare him to prime Ovy/Kane on potential.

In his 1st rookie season Connor scored 5 points in 20 games, why does that never get mentioned?
Hey why hasn't anyone mentioned heiskanen 2 assists in the wjc which came in at a nice 5th place amongst dmen on his own team in the tournament. He was likely top 30 in the tournie for dmen. Why doesn't anyone mention that?

One was the 8th ranked prospect that hasn't done anything in the NHL, (petterson is the top ranked prospect) the other is the top goal scoring rookie in the NHL last year. You should really be careful when you use the word top. 8th is not the top.

My hockey news prospects issue had Miro at 3 a few months ago. And I think generally, Stars have been looking for elite D since Zubov retired and are biased in thinking (although many would agree) that finding one of those (which they lucked into) is harder than finding a guy who has scored 27 goals once, or really any scoring winger. I mean, Vegas found 2 or 3 in the expansion draft, 2 from Florida alone.

And not to conflate issues, but TB offering Foote, ranked the 59th best prospect in the same issue, wasn't the same as Dallas not offering Miro, ranked at 3.

Anyway, no one saying Conner isn't good, just that we as fans are excited to see Miro come up and do his thing, based on all the season long reports on his play.

I always struggle a bit when fans scream about these rookie seasons when they've had plenty of experience from AHL/NHL before.
It's not the same situation as for someone who gets raised from the juniors.
So why wasn't laine on the top line. Or ehlers or little or perrault...any monkey can score 30 with a top line appearance. I bet 29 of those goals went in off Connors ass cause he couldn't get out of the way. And likely most of thos3 points like wheeler and schief came in the top power play unit. Wait he didn't play on that....what the hell.

Vegas players were rookies? Interesting comparison.

No ones said Connor is bad.

He's just a winger at the end of day and not someone who projects to be Ovy/Kane who you would move your potential franchise D-man.

edit,

It was his +3 season, where he was 20-21y, with full year of experience from the AHL+ NHL.

I watch all the Jets games, I know who Connor is.

Maybe because it's 1 tourney, and well documented he was injured there.

He still dominated the Liiga + being one of the best blueliners for Finland at the World Cup& Worlds.
1 tourney and full season aren't the same thing.

Connor is not returning Heiskanen level D-prospect, it's that simple.

You opinion is so jaded that you dont even know what the truth is anymore. You the biggest finish homer on here and everyone here knows it. I think you were the same one who said puliju should be drafted higher than Matthew and laine and cried when his stock was dropping? Every post you have made is jaded. A Finn winger scores 30 goals and he is a beast....a non-finn winger scores 30 and he is....an alright winger. Hilarious.

You literally are making stuff up as you go, incredible :D

Little bit of success and few of you guys have went straight in the deep end.

Hmmm either you have 2 accounts and forgot to change or you are bb88's mom, cause you seem to make statements that you can't back up. Which is it? Can't you keep track of posts you make now?

You're talking of the wrong poster here

I've never once said Toronto should take anyone else than Matthews. So go on.

Boston wasn't trading McAvoy a year ago, Boston sure as hell isn't trading McAvoy today. Dallas's Gm has Miro off the table for trades, including Karlsson. This level of D-prospects don't get moved.
But I'm a finnish homer for saying he's not available for Connor?
Ah...you finally remembered to switch accounts huh? I thought that got users banned on here?

You don't remember the matthews is a center and 8 months older post but if it wasn't for those 2 things, pulju will be ahead because he is much more talented....

Switch back to your other account and send in your reply.

Keep in mind that only one of them has actually proven themselves on an NHL level. To talk about Heiskanen as a "franchise D-man" after 1 good season in Europe is even less accurate than saying Kyle Connor is the next Patrick Kane.

One thing is sure, Connor is ready to contribute right now whereas Heiskanen likely is still years away from being an impact player in the NHL. Considering the Jets are in Win Now mode and we already have Trouba and Morrissey there's no need to give away Connor for a prospect.

Potential gets mentioned pretty clearly and often.
"you would move your potential franchise D-man."

As I've said, Dallas Gm has him off the table for trades, an actual NHL Gm. Boston had McAvoy off the table when he was prospect.
Nill isn't going to go oh yeah I'm not trading him for Karlsson but I will for Kyle Connor.

If Heiskanen doesn't run into injuries he should walk into Dallas top4 straight up, McAvoy rookie season is something we could see.

This thread should really be locked now. Not because of the proposal, but because it's really getting out of hand

And not for me.
Looks like only one of your accounts are logged in at one time. Further proof.

Still cant remember that post after my reminder....noticed you didn't deny posting that comment now.

I nver logg out.
I have no idea how you can keep posting here. You don't even try to add anything to trade talks.
So tell me again you never said that about pulju? (By the way that is your shortened name for puljujarvi...so that should give you a hint) or you can keep with your story that you never said that...and don't have multiple account.
