Balinskis may have tired to force that pass a bit at the blue line, you have a 6/4 man advantage you probably could’ve made a safer play. Sucks, but he’s overall played pretty well. I do think with how Schmidt has solidified himself along with being a former Maurice player that if we did pick up a D at the deadline that balinskis would be the odd man out but if so, it’s always good to have depth. I think he’s been very solid, plus it’s only been 20 games. Let him get close to a full season under his belt.

Yeah, no rush. We will pick up a D at the deadline. In the meantime let some other guys get experience.

Any good targets? I’m assuming we will have to pay up the wazoo for someone with retention and an already good contract.

Provorov is a UFA, makes 4.2
Pettersson is gonna be in everyone's radar, but he's not really a ppqb which is kinda what we need
I kinda like Borgen from Seattle. He's a big offensive minded RD that skates well and has a great shot. Just hasn't been able to translate it into real production in the NHL, but he might here. He's a UFA, cheap contract.

If Islanders falter, I'd like to trade for Pulock. Obviously he'd cost a lot more, but it'd be worth it. He's exactly what we need in the top 4. With cap reportedly going up to the mid -90s or higher, we could fit him in.

Grrr - that was annoying: that felt like a winneable game. And it would have been sweet to sweep the Jets... I don't get why we needed to pull Bob when we already had a PP at the end there - we were only down one at that point. Oh well - it seems like we at least showed up against a good team, so that's encouraging.

Looking at the schedule, we seem to be having a lot of these back to backs - are they doing that on purpose to get more of a playoff feel? Or just luck of the draw/logistics?

I'm sure Zito already have his names list. There's no way we start the playoffs with our current D squad.

In Zito I trust.

The fan of a team from a city that lost its team and will lose its team again is passive aggressively asking if we have any fans. Should go on the Jets board and ask if they think they will keep their team records when the team moves back in Atlanta after losing in the 1st round for the 600th straight playoff appearance
