There's been plenty of talk lately about Kulemin but I think this video paints a clear picture of his play lately.

Craig Simpson said "Kulemin's just along for the ride on this one" and he couldn't be more wrong.

Watch Kuli work in the corner, keep the puck in at the line against two sens, fight off another in the neutral ice and make the extra effort to get the puck to Lupul. This play never happens without the extra effort by our workhorse.

It's almost as if Kadri was the one along for the ride on that play.

tbh when i heard that i said the same thing to myself.

Yeah didn't know if many people noticed this. But that whole play was created by Kulemin and his hustle. He really has been re-ignited since joining lupul and nazem

Hope this link works.

Simpson and Hughson are idiots.

Kulemin is a perfect linemate for the Kadri line. There is no way we let him go. Solid defensively, great along the boards and he definitely still has the offense.

No reason why he can't be a 50 point guy that does everything.

Anybody who says "Kulemin is just along for the ride" is a complete dumbass.

Kulemin is one of the hardest working Leafs and works his ass off. He does a lot of great work along the boards and is a valuable player on this team, especially at his current cap hit.

I would love to punch Simpson in the face, really hate that guy.

I really like him. I feel like you keep him with Kadri and Lupul and it's one of the best lines in the league. I feel like Lupul's confidence is through the roof right now, Kadri's swagger and patience with the puck, both of that will wear off on Kulemin and he'll settle into his own again. He had an amazing season when he scored 30, but there's no reason to think he can't hit 20+ playing with Lupul and Kadri on a constant basis, IMO.

Not only is Kuley great on this line (and specifically this play), but when he's with McClement, it's so fun to watch. They're beasts on the wall.

this, Kulemin is our Clowe, Lucic... and yes he's skilled enough to be a top 6 guy as long as he keeps doing what he's doing for Kadrupul

I feel for new fans that believe these goofs have anything knowledgeable to say. Kulemin holding the blueline was the reason that 4th goal was scored.

I find it funny that in the Sens GTD thread, they were all saying how much the announcers were homers for the leafs, it gave me a good chuckle. If only they heard Healy all last year.

he is amazing on that line. does what the other two lack, forecheck and cause turnovers while the two play makers can do their stuff. hope we finally found a spot for him and keep these 3 together for the future.

Nikolai Kulemin is just too awesome. He plays so damn hard every shift, forechecks like a beast, has a heavy shot, causes so many turnovers, finishes all his checks, is a beast on the PK with McClement.. I love Kulemin and I have since he started playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gotta be more careful with his stick though. Two high-sticking infractions in one game is pretty careless lol

Really says something when both fanbases are disgusted with the commentating.

This. A lot of the plays that lupul and kadri get credit for, kulie does a lot of the work too. He is such a beast along the walls, gets in those dirty areas, and he is such a boss at keeping the puck in thr offensive zone. Not to mention, he can be really fast. def deserves more credit than he gets.

No. We hate them because of the during the game commentary.
We all know, Hughson and Simspson aren't fans, and Healy piles on.

The Sens felt their noses were rubbed in it, with Orr and McLaren
joining Naz, and it was basically a Leaf love-in, in Ottawa.

Both fanbases were disgusted, but due to 2 different things.

The most under appreciated player on the team by the media.

There are multiple times during this game that he wins puck battles to keep the play alive. He is a perfect fit for that line and creates space for Kadri and Lupul to make these plays.
