Kucherov has 1 goal in his last three playofff appearances.

Florida's a very tough opponent but I mentioned it earlier back in the Jagr vs Kuch thread.

Dude needs another monster playoff season to cement his legacy before people truly realize and point out the stacked team that was covering his weaknesses. Kuch is still easily the 3rd/4th best player in thr league but those narratives are going to mount up like a mfer if he doesn't lead Tampa into some playoff success

Just curious. Who are the 3/4 players you have ahead of him and how many "monster playoffs" did they have?

He is literally Tampa's all time leader in playoff goals, assists and points. Been to 4 Stanley Cup Finals and won 2 times.
What's your definition of Tampa playoff success?

He probably cares more about personal accolades and turning those into one last big contract. Didn't even get the pouty Kucherov in the latest series we've seen when things aren't going his way. He just went through the motions and is probably happy he gets a few months off.

He's a Russian 2nd round winger and wins trophies over hyped 1st overall Canadian boys people want to succeed more.
I think the floodgates opened after this: Nikita Kucherov’s Lackluster NHL All-Star Skills Competition Annoyed Hockey Fans
You really make us Canadians sound like dicks!? FYI Sports Illustrated and The Athletic are US publications and opinions. And fans boo'd a player over effort like they have since before Canada and Russia were even a thing. And we've enjoyed watching many Russian players over the past 3+ decades in the NHL. Russia is in no world a victim, unless it's of it's own doing, so stop being one all the time.(wow, maybe I am a dick)

This is pretty stupid, given the fact he had to play Florida, last year´s Cup winner, who has a good chance to repeat this year, twice out of three, right in the first round.
When you play equally strong opponent, points/goals dont come that easy.

What a stupid point to make. Kucherov is a playmaker first and foremost. I care about his points total, not his goals total.

Cherrypicking 101.

He is floating too much. He looks like Ovi now, standing still. The difference is Kucherov is all world with his vision and passing where Ovi is all world with his shot. Florida's plan was to take away time from Kuch and lay the body as much as possible. I think it threw him off his game, and most importantly, it took his PP lane to Point out completely. Forced the Lightning to try to find Point through Hedman instead which didnt work.

Kucherov is all world, but I think his mental game can be challenged depending on the opponent. Florida had a great plan, and executed it correctly.

All the things that you mentioned but a couple carry jobs IMO. Gretzky has a 93 playoff run with the kings after he left Edmonton. Lemieux has 91 and 92. Both of their runs solidified themselves as all time playoff greats who didn't need other advantages team wise to win or atleast come close to winning a cup.

You mentioned Jagr before. When were his carry jobs?

Lemieux/Gretzky played on stacked teams for their Cup wins just like Kucherov did.
Lemieux had Hall of Famers such as Jagr, Coffey, Trottier, Barrasso, Murphy & Francis.
Gretzky had Hall of Famers such as Messier, Anderson, Coffey, Fuhr, Lowe & Kurri.
I'm not even mentioning the other all star caliber players.
Gretzky made it out of the 2nd round only 1 season in his 8 with the Kings and never won a Stanley Cup. Didn't even make the playoffs in 2 of those years.

So yes, you need to have stacked/deep teams to win the Stanley Cup. No one player can carry a team except maybe in the rare case of a super hot goaltender.

Your statement just isn't reality.

He's 3rd. I was gonna put MacKinnon ahead but I'm not so sure know. McDavid, Drai are better IMHO. They both have 2 elite playoff seasons

MacKinnon is better than Kucherov with little doubt. He has a goal per game in 4 nations and playoffs this year, just won the Hart and Lindsay, and he’s a better all around player than Kucherov with the same offense, drives play better, better defensively, faster, more clutch, etc.

Disappointing playoffs after an amazing regular season.

Still has a better playoff resume than both Ovechkin and Jagr if he retires tomorrow.

Disappointing playoff for sure but he was hurt and I wouldn't want anyone else playing RW1 on my team on any given night. He will be back next year to avenge this statline.
