Kucherov has 1 goal in his last three playofff appearances.

I don't think the perception of the stat is necessarily right from the general POV. Kucherov is a great shooter, has always been both career wise and judging simply by eye test. But he's never been a shoot-first player. His whole MO is his passing game, he's described by most hockey data based sites as a playmaker, he's more of an assistant and passer than 95% of the league's centers and should be judged as that.

Sure when you're a top-3 player in the league for like last 6-7 years, 1 goal in 3 tries still doesn't look good but not as bad as if you look at him as a prototypical winger rather than a center.

Yup, they separated McDavid and Draisaitl to spread their offense.

I swear, people have no idea how important Draisaitl is to that Oilers Team.

Tampa doesn't have that luxury...To have another player of that caliber...

With the Lightning, you neutralize that first line and it's game over. Just like the majority of teams.

Yeah they live and die by the performance of McDavid and Draisaitl more than any other team relies on two players.

17 points in 16 games. You’d like more goals but in such a small sample if still producing like he has then he’s not the one to point fingers at.

Such fake news. Theyre both centers and shouldnt have to be put together ever if they could carry their own weight. The Oilers get a bye to the Cofnerence Finals every year because the pacific is garbage. Id love to see them against the Central or Panthers early.

I'm not a Tampa fan. But Kuch had 4 assists in 5 games this year, and 7 assists in 5 games last year. He was also 1 and 5 against Toronto. So that's still ppg. But this thread focuses on the 1 goal.
Yep 16 assists in those 16 games but everyone is ignoring that. These last 3 playoff runs have not been his best but I mean 93 points in the three previous playoff runs should give him some benefit of the doubt.

The best playoffs McDavid had came in 21-22 and 23-24 even though his best seasons were 20-21 and 22-23.

Kucherov since his first Art Ross:

Patrick Kane between 09-15 had 100 pts in 100 playoff games, then he won his first Art Ross and became a top scorer in the regular season. Since then he has 24 pts in 27 playoff games.

I think there is sometimes a correlation between high scoring seasons and weak playoffs. Since 1987-88 there have only been 3 Art Ross winners that went on to win the Stanley cup (Malkin 09, St Louis 04 and Lemiuex 92). Even in the NBA Michael Jordan, Shaq and Kareem Abdul Jabbar are the only players ever to win the scoring title and the championship in the same season. Maybe if a player is scoring a ton during the regular season that means he is compensating for the rest of the teams weakness or making the team one-dimensional?

Avs are the most overrated team of this decade lol. Fluked into the 22 season with the luckiest cap situation in history and have won one series since.

And people are out here in threads claiming he's better than Ovi or Jagr
I think OV and Jagr are better than Kucherov but playoffs is not exactly a weakness for Kucherov here:

f***ing pathetic........that's some shit do you do in shinny.

I also don't know why that Panther player didn't put his shoulder right into his chest trying that dumb shit.

But glad he got burned for a goal against from it.

Reminded me of Laine.

At least with Kucherov his moves work most of the time.

It looked super casual and nonchalant though, which is why people are picking up on it.

"Super casual and nonchalant" is just his playing style. Like you said though, his moves (along with his playing style in general) work most of the time. It's just that when they don't work, it's infuriating, which is an emotion that gets magnified in a playoff series you end up losing in five games.

As the title says Kucherov has 1 goal in the 15 games he’s played in the last three post season. No doubt he’s an elite player but is he on the same level as Connor/Leon/Nate as suggested by his regular season production considering those three have been way more productive in the post season?
He can’t hear what your are saying with his two Stanley Cup rings in his ears!

I think it has more to do with how good the Panthers are. Haven't they been shutting down every star player not named McDavid for two years now?

OP makes a very valid point. Why does Kucherov's goalscoring and overall PPG fall off a cliff in the postseason when his team isn't a perennial contender?

he can't play when games get tighter. Now imagine when NHL was actually physical league. Pretty much product of current butter soft league
Fr lol. It's kind of obvious when you watch but also laughable when someone with a different opinion says otherwise.

Half of the so-called superstar players in this league throughout this current era wouldn't survive in the pre cap era at all IMO.

Lots of people in this forum f***ing underrate pre cap players NGL. What Gretzky, Lemieux and Howe, Orr accomplished are 100x more impressive.

The birth of perimeter players like Panarin and Gaudreau for example has to correlate with the soft physicality of today's cap era. I genuinely don't think it was a thing back in the past.
