Kucherov has 1 goal in his last three playofff appearances.

I’m a big fan of Kucherov, but it’s more than fair to critique his recent playoffs.

He’s won 2 Art Rosses in a row and was third before that. He’s been incredible during the regular season.

Scoring 1 goal and barely being above a PPG in 16 games across 3 first round exits totaling just 4 wins is a perfectly fine reason to get on someone as great as he is. That’s an extreme dip in production.

Nothing wrong with pointing that out, no matter how much success he’s had in the playoffs beforehand.

he can't play when games get tighter. Now imagine when NHL was actually physical league. Pretty much product of current butter soft league
He can’t? Funny thing to say about a dude who’s way over PPG, has 2 rings and has over career playoff points.

Very well articulated. Not sure why Tampa fans are getting so defensive!

Kucherov isn't primarily a goal-scorer, so this stat doesn't seem overly remarkable. This past season, Kucherov went through stretches of 1 goal in 10 games and 2 goals in 10 games, and he still won the scoring title.

In the playoffs, players typically fall about 20% (or more, esp. in the Finals) off their RS scoring pace, anyway. And when teams lose consecutive series, everyone's stats take a hit.

The last time the Lightning won a playoff series was June 11th, 2022. After that point in time, here are the Lightning's leading playoff scorers (through one Finals' losses and three first-round losses; i.e., over 22 games played):
21 PTS -- Kucherov (+2)
18 PTS -- Hedman (-4)
14 PTS -- Stamkos (-4) only 17GP
12 PTS -- Point (-4) only 18GP
12 PTS -- Cirelli (-8)
11 PTS -- Hagel (-11)

So, over these four series losses in a row, Kucherov leads the club handily in scoring, and of the top-six scorers he's the only guy who's a plus at even strength. I'd say he's doing fine.

On a non(?)-related note, what is with the large-scale dislike of Kucherov, anyway? I don't get it.

Generally, I'm very indifferent to most Russian hockey players, mainly because so few notable ones have played for my club (Edmonton). But I quite like Kucherov. His style is a bit like Gretzky, and he's so fun to watch in the highlights and so on.

In Kucherov's case, I don't get the seemingly mass dislike of him from NHL fans. What's he done that's so bad?

I think he been training too much with Phil kessel in the summer with the hot dogs. This dude needs to be sent to the minors and eat a few salads

He's a Russian 2nd round winger and wins trophies over hyped 1st overall Canadian boys people want to succeed more.
I think the floodgates opened after this: Nikita Kucherov’s Lackluster NHL All-Star Skills Competition Annoyed Hockey Fans

Nonetheless, the skill is there. That only few select players in this league have

As the title says Kucherov has 1 goal in the 15 games he’s played in the last three post season. No doubt he’s an elite player but is he on the same level as Connor/Leon/Nate as suggested by his regular season production considering those three have been way more productive in the post season?
He's delivered more cups than all 3 of those guys you listed combined

Lol Tampa fans on here discredit MacKinnon and McDavid all the time. At least they can score in the playoffs tho.
There’s only like 2 or 3 Tampa fans I can recall that I’ve seen on main boards

Good thing he used all his energy in April to stat pad against bad teams to win another Art Ross, so at least he has that going for him

Bad jab here.
The guy in your profile picture has one cup and he is one of my favourite players as well, but Kucherov was a major factor in two cups.

“At least he has that going for him”

Bad look

I laugh every time people compare him to the likes of Forsberg and Jagr. Kucherov wouldn’t have survived the DPE.

But to the OPs point - I think he’s perfect for today’s NHL, and he’s got some precious playoff performances that were great, compared to the likes of Matthews for example that har 2 goals in his last 15 playoff games
