Kuch could have destroyed his own knee on the play so yeah. Not intentional for sure
Yep, I'm of the opinion that the large majority of knee on knee hits are unintentional. Nobody's out there think "I'm going to risk blowing my knee up to try and blow someone else's knee up." Almost always the result of someone shifting to avoid or make a hit.

His knee took it all
There was also upper body chest contact.

Dude is just fine. People can let go of their Kucherov blood lust now
I agree.

Kuch is such a scumbag man, dirty dirty.
Tkachuk faked it. He was back later.

Yeah. Looked more like thigh on thigh than knee on knee to me.
Same to me.

Kucherov is a dirty player, he leads with his knee on to the hit, but i still don't think it's more than major.

That’s the old Tkachuk. He’s been reborn baby
Lol hasn’t Tkachuk been suspended like 4 times?

Yeah he’s a saint, it’s good thing he stood up to that goon pasta and pounded him into ice.
Btw you’re conspicuously absent after asking for proof.
Oh did Pasta not challenge him to a fight? Lmao. I missed the part where Tkachuk forced him LMAO

Honestly don’t see this as a dirty hit as per the rulebook but I think Kucherov knew exactly what he was doing.

Kuch doesn’t extend or reach for the leg, he goes straight ahead and that’s what Tkachuk was sticking out so that’s what got hit. The bigger thing to me on intent is that he completely avoids the puck at all costs which was coming right by him in order to deliver the hit.

It’s a dirty hit based on intent but not based on the physics of it.

If anyone doesn't think Kucherov has it in him to try to hurt someone, you haven't been paying attention. He's a psychic and it's part of what makes him so good.

Are psychics usually violent?

It looked dirty to me, but not egregious enough to warrant supplementary discipline. If Kucherov wanted to try something devastating he would put himself at risk as well. I don't think he's that stupid.

Idk what got him so fired up leading up to this. Was at the game, he ran Ekblad pretty hard into the boards near the penalty box and was clearly pissed and literally as soon as he finished that check he just made a bee line and tried to take a run at whoever he could. Idk how you don’t see that as dirty. At bare minimum it’s reckless. Thankfully he was just hurt and not injured. With knee on knee collisions you never know if the result is going to be a bad sting from the blunt force or a serious injury like a ligament tear

Definitely looks like the first point of contact is the shoulders. Kucherov just kind of skates through Tkachuk, as Tkachuk is bringing his back leg forward, resulting in the knees hitting each other. Seems more like a potential vulnerable position hit, if anything, as opposed to an intentional knee on knee.

Leading a hit with your leg is always dirty.
First point of contact is the shoulders. Look at the screen grabs.
