Kucherov Appears to Intentionally Trip Rasmussen As He Scores

What are you even trying to say?

It doesn't matter what he does, if another player is nearby and wants to commit an infraction on him, he can't really stop them.

If it's not tripping, it could be slashing or a Todd Bertuzzi punch to the back of the head. You can't possibly "be ready for anything". That's kind of why there's rules...
Okay he did everything perfect and the only way he possible, kuchy is a just a dirty lil devil 100%.

If kuch isn't lazy/dirty, actually genuinely attempts to hit the puck, takes out ras still and he misses, its a minor penalty and nobody is even talking about it while kuch is in the box. But surely some det fans would think man why wasn't he ready for contact, or why didn't he just fire it in earlier etc..

p***y move. I have no real issues with showing some frustration, but tripping an unsuspecting player like a little bitch like that is crazy dangerous. Way more dangerous than what McDavid did.

I bet you he will turtle and ask someone else to answer the bell when the shitstorm comes for him next game against the Wings.
in addition ras always plays a very clean game

Which is one decision of many he could have made, brace harder, skate faster, skate slower, deke, initiate contact, shoot it earlier, etc etc.

Can he telepathically be ready for exactly that from kuch, obviously not. Does he have more options than gliding to the net trying to protect the puck, yes, obviously.

That is all. Not taking anything away from a dirty play so dont @ me in your fake internet outrage over minutiae.

..man, I’ve read some dumb shit on here, but this- wow. Gotta be ready for anything, I guess.

Correct play by Kucherov. What he should have done? Give a guy with the puck a free pass to score?

Some people here acting like they watched hockey game a first time and never seen players intentionally taking penalties to prevent scoring.

Sadly, this Red Wing team does not have a shitstorm mode. Only hope here is discipline from the league. In other words, move along folks, nothing to see here.

He won't.
No one will.

Next time he should lasso him like a young buck and wrastle him down, hog tie his skates

That’s more dangerous than cross checking a dude in the face?
Yes, this is infinitely more dangerous than what mcdavid did

Imagine worst case scenario in both cases:

Broken nose/teeth possibly jaw vs destroyed knee/ankle broken leg
Only one of those could end a career

The bigger issue for me is you can’t even argue he was trying to do anything to stop the goal…last resort…trip him…take the penalty but at least you stopped the goal right? No…would have been a goal anyway….i think. Trip a guy on breakaway with empty net = automatic goal

It’s definitely way more likely to result in injury, but you got the worst case scenarios wrong. Worst case with cross check to the head is bad concussion/brain damage….though a trip like that could certainly result in that as well

It is an "armchair general" logic. It is only works if you have time to stop and think about it and recall the very rare used rule.

When you trying to stop a guy you have no time to think, you have to stop the player with the puck and let the refs decided what to do.

It literally happens every game multiple times. Some time players get away with breaking the rules and prevent scoring at the same time.

Literally nothing wrong with the episode except the comical overreaction of HFboard and multiple dumb comments written by haters.

Tripping is one of the most common penalties, but based on this topic one would think Kucherov cut the guy's head and played football with it.
