MLS had record attendance this season, even if you remove Messi’s away games it would still have broken the record. I think only a couple of MLS teams saw a downturn in attendance this year. As I understand it, the Apple TV thing may have raised awareness of the league to a younger audience.

For certain markets yeah but most MLS games weren't on OTA like the Sounders. Was pretty similar to the NHL for a lot. Sounders have other factors too but I saw a recent survey and that was one of the main ones called out.
