Kopitar was -6 last night. What's the record?

I know you’re joking, but this kings fan would trade Kopitar and Doughty both immediately if it were feasible.

As long as no large salary is coming back, I could give a shit less what the return is too.

I didn't realize Kopitar had already been signed for a couple more years at $7 million on a 35+ contract.

Yearh, there might have to be some salary retention along with that bag of pucks.

Seems a little rash, especially for Kopitar

I know it doesn’t best it, but it did remind me of this from Torrey Krug the other night:

The Blue’s beat the Habs 7-2.

Krug gets 5 assists, yet somehow finishes the game a -1.

Must've been all or at least 4/5 of his assists were on PP goals

Weird game.

Looking at the box score Kopitar was -6 in 17 minutes, while both Danault and Dubois were at zero in also 17 minutes each. That's some baaaaad luck.

If the brass could be trusted to reduce their roles to secondary levels, it would absolutely be rash.

Sadly though, they can’t, and Anze/Drew cannot be rode for #1 level minutes on a winning team. They are great secondary pieces, being paid & played like prime guys.

Hasn’t worked since 2014, and It’s never gonna work going forward.

Time to move on from the glory years.

Holy crap, Joly was a -69 in 44 games.

All part of the inaugural Caps season with their still standing record negative goal differential of -265

Joly sure helped set up Washington in the record books LOL

Dubois is in Jack Johnson territory. The vast majority of Kings players are plus players and he is somehow -16! Fiala is another outlier at -7. Even before the Kings recent collapse I wondered how one of their leading scorers was a minus player on a team that was just steamrolling everyone.

Even after the -6 night Kopitar is still +9 on the year.

I saw this that night. Strangest thing is that St.L was only 3-5 on the power play and Krug picked up 2 assists on the PP. So must have been on for all MTL goals, and for the 3 5v5 assists Krug had - two of them must have been that he made an outlet pass and then off on a change before the goal was scored so got an assist but not a plus??

A real uber-rare oddity of a stat for sure!

I watched the game and Kopitar didn't look bad to me. He wasn't the one turning over the puck. The top pairing, alone, did so in their zone 3 times that led to goals, which is half of his -6 right there. Of the 6 goals that he was on the ice for, I'm not sure that Kopitar could've done anything better on 5 of them. The -6 doesn't reflect his performance in the game, IMO, but the final score certainly reflects the performance of the team, because they were absolutely dominated for 60 minutes.
