Been an absolute pleasure to watch his career thus far. The greatest King in my eyes. I still remember running around my living room as a teenager when he went around Pronger in his first game. You knew then that the Kings had something special. Only real hope Kings had had since 2001.

I think Kopitar will easily go down as the greatest player in Kings history. Sure, he may not go down as the most talented player ever to put on the sweater like Wayne, but he is going to go down as the best all-around player, best Kings career, and the most cherished, respected, and celebrated player in team history when all is said and done.

Yes but Kings legend Wayne Gretzy will go down as the best player, best career, and the most cherished, respected, and celebrated player in NHL history when all is said and done and he was a King!

Wayne is always going to be celebrated and Kings fans love him and are lucky to have had him, but he didn't win anything in LA. Kopitar did it all and is the most consistent player the Kings have ever had. He arguably played a bigger part in their cup wins than any other player.

Kopitar will be a first ballot hall of famer, two-time champion, and will likely play his entire career in LA. Who else in the history of LA sports can meet those three criteria? Magic, Kobe….?

Kareem began his career in Milwaukee. Koufax, Drysdale in Brooklyn. Kershaw? Only one title. Likely retires with someone else. Dustin Brown will not make HHOF, much less on the first ballot. Doughty maybe? Maybe not first ballot and might still get traded.

Anze is an LA sports legend.

Doughty is absolutely going to be first ballot.

From Canada, 2 Gold Medals, 2 Cups, and a Norris.

When Kelly Hrudey is your goalie, you aren't winning shit.

Someday, people will look back at that '93 Kings team and will consider Gretzky leading that team as far as he did to be one of his greater team accomplishments.

The greatest King, imo, is Doughty.
The irony of this take is that Gretzky couldn’t take care of himself on the ice and the guy who did it for most of his career cost Gretz the Cup in ‘93

Kopitar is comparable to Bergeron and should have gotten more Selke recognition throughout his career. All teams have players that produce and make you wonder what the cost is defensively for them to do it. You never had to wonder with them. Two of the best to play the game that will never get recognized as such because they never cheated for offense.
