Been calling for him to become a fan favourite in Toronto for awhile now, I hope he gets his shot this season. He'll be everything Colby Armstrong was supposed to be when he signed here, except more consistently in-your-face.

I was actually hoping we could've landed Steve Ott last summer and gone with a third line like Ott-Kadri-Komarov :laugh:

Komarov-Kadri-Biggs could be a good agitator line in the future.
 
His first year at the world junior hockey championships, he played in seven games and had 32 penalty minutes lol. I'm excited for his first NHL game. Gonna be quit the s*** disturber. Here's hoping he wears #87 just to troll the league even more.

Not a bad draft for him:

Tlusty, Kulemin, Stalberg, Reimer, Holzer and Komarov could all be NHLers this season.

Only Tyler Ruegsegger is a complete bust

Follow this guy a little during the lockout. He is going to be fun to watch night after night. I think the Sens are going to get their jimmies rustled this year.

JFJ had some solid drafts, he just didn't care to retain picks or the players he drafted. He was poor at assessing pro-level talent however.

Quite a few people have claimed JFJ just did what he was told. So maybe the drafting was the only real JFJ we ever saw.
 
Hopefully he does the cele where he shoots the goalie. That'll get the boys going :laugh:
 
Komarov isn't exactly terrible offensively. He's never going to drive offensive production, but with the right players he could be a decent threat offensively.

Last two season's he was right up with the leaders of his team in points and goals.

2nd in both goals and points last season, and 2nd in goals and 3rd in points the year before that.

Even for Dynamo this year, in a short period of time, he had one of the three best PPG rates on the team.
 
I'll reserve judgment until I see him play in the NHL. My guess is at 5'10 with no offensive upside he''ll see 6-8 4th line minutes.

6-8 minutes? He's not a pure fighter/goon like Orr. Not even close. He plays bigger than 5'10 (although granted that's not saying much) and most certainly has some offensive ability. I'd expect around 10 minutes would be more likely. There's a reason he was paired together with Ovechkin for Dynamo. Good instincts.

For sure. From what I hear from Dynamo fans he's not a real "dirty" pest either like Avery for example. Certainly not one-dimensional. Plays the game hard, and mixes it up with players all over the ice. Loves scrums. :laugh:

Will be fun to see him and Ott mix it up. Battle of the trolls.

Born in Narva, Estonia, they spoke Russian at his home. When they moved to a Swedish speaking region in Finland he learned Swedish. English he learned at school. So that's Finnish, Russian, Swedish and English. During the World Championships in Germany he spoke some German even but he said he doesn't know enough to give interviews. I guess it really is as Esa Tikkanen said, once you learn Swedish, you'll know German as well. :laugh:

He's 180 cm tall, which is 5'11".

I hope he makes the team, can't wait to hear what Don Cherry thinks of him. :D
