GDT: Knightes @ Aves | 7:52pm ESPN MT | What a Horrible Knight to Have a Curse

Ferraro on the broadcast yesterday said the Avs will be practicing 3 times during that week off, meaning once every two days.
I'll believe that shit, when I see it. I fully expect Bednar to come out with something like "That was the plan, but a lot of guys just weren't feeling it and at this point of the season...." Blah blah blah.

Why are people so obsessed with this absolute fantasy of Bednar "resting" players? Since when has that man EVER shown a tendency to do that? Never in his life, that's when. They'll play.

The most important takeaway from this game is that when the Avs actually give a ****, they are very hard to stop.
That and the fact that even with scrubs in and DTD players out, they managed to scratch out a win. It tells me the team is still hungry. Lehky better get it in gear though.

Did you miss the second period?

We had more shots that period than Vegas had the entire regulation game.
I mean we played fine for one period, mainly because I think we were embarrassed about being down 2-0 to Vegas's C squad.

Both teams sat a ton of key players due to "injury" and the game had the energy of an early October preseason game.

Hope the Avs can just turn it on when they need to now that we can only play Dallas or Winnipeg. Or it will be a waste of 8 days for the Avs.

Not surprising, Avs dominated puck possession on this one. Except for the 2nd line and Middleton, everyone had above 50%. Some WELL above that mark.

Bednar is in tough, Nelson just ain’t good enough to carry a line, but there’s just no one to put on his wings good enough to really spring him. I agree with everyone that Bednar needs to quit f***ing putting him on the right side half wall though. Put him down low if you must but NOT THERE. I don’t see why they don’t just try a defenseman as the fifth guy, mix it up a little. There was a time when Bednar was experimental enough to put three defensemen on the power play.

Bednar experimenting with tactics??? Lol that's a funny one.

Outside of putting out different line combos don't thinks he's come up with one creative thought in 5 years.

After we get smoked in the playoffs, which is likely, he and all the coaches should be shown the door.

Sitting guys so they do not get hurt before the playoffs is one thing but sitting them to get rest is overkilled when the team will have at least 5 days off after the regular season ends. Like others said, sit them if they have nagging injuries but otherwise if they want to play, play them. I agree that they should try to keep their minutes down though.

I would however tell them to be careful not to put themselves in a situation to get hurt like Cale blocking shots for example.

Whenever game 6 vs Dallas is Bednar will be gone by the next Monday.

No problem with the guys playing games. Just spread out the minutes a bit more please.
Agreed. If Bednar can somehow find it in his heart to play everyone about 16-20 min, that would be perfect. Get the depth guys some higher intensity minutes to prep them, as they will likely be sitting more soon.

I think players sitting out entirely is detrimental for being prepared for the postseason (unless they are actually hurt, in which case they should absolutely be sitting for some sort of Wagner or whomever)

I was very stoked about the Brock Nelson acquisition but its Charlie mf Coyle who's looking more like a 2C, and he's the one with a contract

Hmmmm
Nelson looks like a rental. He seems to be disengaged. Doesn't seem to be very assertive or creative out there at the moment. That could very well be just what is seen via TV, but he looks like an outsider and one of the reasons I was hesitant to be too optimistic when that trade was made.

The buccal fat removal surgery and lip filler surgeries are both the worst and most tragic thing to happen in a long time. Every woman that gets it ends up looking the same. So sad.
Disagree. Syringing out fat and injecting temp lip filler are nothing compared to women chopping their tits off from beneath and putting gel pads inside them.

People keep saying we should rest players but we have nearly a week off after our season ends before the playoffs. I don't think Cale needs like 9 or 10 days rest.
Not necessarily rest players by giving them the last 3 games off. We got that back to back vs Kings and Ducks. I would at least sit Makar for one of those games. Nate is not gonna sit since he’s chasing the Art Ross, but Cale already won the Norris and got his 30 goals.

I highly doubt either 8 or 29 will sit out to rest. They don't strike me as the type of guys that would agree to this.

Do we forget what the team looks like after a week off ? We'll be down 0-2 with the week off as is un all likelihood

You’re probably right. Oh well, just 3 games left, and the only meaningful thing in this 3 games is Nate race to Art Ross, although I really don’t like his chances. Tampa has 5 games left, so 2 more games for Kuckerov and they have games against the Sabres and Wings at home. He’s probably gonna put up like 6 or 7 points just in those 2 games. Something like 4 against the Sabres, 3 against Detroit.
