Knies scores a crazy goal with 0.1 seconds left on the clock

This kid is going to be a force. He's already a 20+ goal scorer who shows occasional flashes of brilliance.

Should become a 30+ goal scoring physical force with sweet hands and finesse skills.
He's pacing for 31 if the plays the rest of the way so it seems like he's already pretty much at that level

Extremely impressive sophomore season. He's the ideal powerforward in the modern NHL

First time I've ever seen that. 5.7 seconds left on a defensive zone faceoff? Enough for the offensive team to score but the first time I've seen the defensive team score off that. Also good attitude by Knies to go for it instead of just assuming that he won't have enough time.

Gotta say, though, Blomqvist is not impressing me with that, guy is so far out but is completely out of position. And he could have gone way further out, since Knies had no way to go around him.

All Karlsson had to do was hold onto that puck and the Leafs don't score.
In that situation you're trying to play for a goal for your team, you don't play to prevent the opponent from scoring.

I’d be curious what the record is. Defensive zone draw with a goalie in net? I’d guess this might be the lowest amount of time left in a period it’s ever been done.

Damn can't get any closer than that. Didn't Bouchard score with like 0.3 seconds left in regulation last week for the Oilers as well? I think it was against the Canes.

I think the last 3 goals by the Leafs were all high blocker side, and at least two from long range.
Keeper might want to work on that. And EK on whatever that pass was.

The subtle edgework displayed by the goalie to move out of the shooting lane right at the perfect moment is really quite something.

I'm not sure what about Knies body language made the goalie think he was going glove side for him to cheat that badly. Maybe he straight up lost his net and thought he was centering himself

Wyatt Johnston: Hold my beer.

Seriously though, awesome to have clutch last tenth of a second goals going down. :D
