Confirmed with Link: Klingberg signs in Edmonton

Is that Austin Mathews with the gut.
Looks like Auston's father. btw, did Auston get off the toilet, or he's still crashing it on youtube?

The media seems very impressed with how Klingberg played tonight as a starting point
Did he play well? I was kind of pleased when they signed him. He was a legit No.1-2 in Dallas and is only 32, which is prime years for most d-men in the NHL. Hope he can get over his injury issues and put together a few good seasons.

I’m bamboozled as to why he hasn’t been given any PP time. If there was nothing else you brought him in for, surely some second unit PP time wouldn’t hurt. Ekholm is getting up there, there are worse things in the world than giving him an extra minutes worth of rest a game.

He's only on game 3. Maybe there's a plan for him

Imo he could be great in a PP role with his mobility and that quick passing

I didn't notice him at all in game 3 but people said he was bad. He had his lowest minutes. He might have been one of the ones fighting the flu

The main concern with him was how he'd react to his surgery. Imo his mobility and puck skills were great. He needs more time to adjust but I'm confident he will be as good as he was for Dallas. His style is a perfect complement to Nurse.

There's still the chance he doesn't pan out. We'll see at the deadline where we are at with him

He’s played 5 games, not 3. How long does it take a guy to get used to a second unit PP in practice?

He's getting back up to NHL speed. Give him some time.

I just feel like if we had an actual top 4 RD he would be much better as a bottom pairing guy. It's a huge risk putting him in a top 4 role with basically rookie behind him. That's calling for disaster during the playoffs.

Stetcher is a better player right now.

Idk that's a stretch.

Klingberg probably needs a month before we can form an opinion.

Luckily for Klingberg the bar has been set really low, he just has to perform better than Ceci did last year. Even if he doesn't, Kulak is working really well with Nurse. They just want to get a depth left hander in case one of those guys gets hurt.

I think we'll be fine on D, better off shopping for a goalie.

You can't really judge anything until he's had a solid 3-4 weeks of playing time here, anyone who thought this was not going to be a process probably has never played real sports in their life. It's gonna likely be the same deal for Evander Kane, people expecting him to just step off the shelf after a year and tons of surgery like nothing has happened aren't being realistic.

Klingberg needs to play and he's going to look bad at times, that was always a given.

But then Stan needed to start this experiment 3-4 weeks ago. It’s complete malpractice if this is one big move on D. I can’t believe a GM with his prior success in the league would think that genuinely adequate.

Do we really know how many games it takes? Klingberg has shown he is physically able to get back to his top form. This is just about him getting his feel back and playing Knoblauch's system. He has 5 games under his belt. There are 7 games until the deadline. If he's no better by then we'll very likely trade for someone else.

Between those 7 games and a two week break, I'm fairly confident there's plenty of time for Klingberg to show if he's up to this

How exactly do you think Bowman should have achieved that?
