  1. Severson and Fabbro play bad in the front of the net, J. Johnson and JvR have problems with speed.
  2. K. Johnson had great game, only some turnovers but no pretension. But his vision, skill... and he is stronger.
  3. Werenski is great, elite.
  4. Monahan was excellent too and his play helped his wingers. Marchenko had excellent backchecking, sometimes he reminded me Datsyuk and his play with the stick in defense, moved very good.
  5. I liked the Chinakhov - Sillinger - Olivier line.

My pretension are:
  • play in the front of the net in DZ
  • play in the center of DZ
  • play in NZ in defense, maybe it is the reason why centers are not often in his position in DZ

Knowing we just had a pretty awful losing streak, I’m gonna say this anyway. I have said it before. This team is different than the teams of the past 3 years. Beating solid teams, scoring goals, coming back from a 3-0 deficit against the f***ing Lightning… it simply hasn’t happened in a long time. We might not be great yet, but this is not a bottom 5 team and might not be bottom 10 either.

Great win especially being down 3-1
In past years the team would have quit
It’s why I continue to look forward to seeing them play
I’m optimistic about the future

Zach is truly elite. Time for him to get the recognition he deserves.
I remember when people here were complaining about the length and term of his contract

I looked at the comparison of the teams:

we are the 14th most experienced team, 9639 games, 9th youngest. That's not like last season. We also have our first center. The defense is experienced, only Harris is under 25.

So we have an advantage there.

I looked at the youngest teams. Montreal and Anaheim don't have a defense, they have a kindergarten. Of course, I mean the ones that play regularly.

I still don't understand how we lost to Anaheim.

You do realize that whole mess started with Z right? I just didn't understand why you were calling out Fabbro, hes been very good.
i called out Fabbro because he had two atrocious turnovers on one shift that nearly cost them a timely goal against. Luckily it didn’t.

He’s been fine otherwise

Honestly I didn't see them.

Every one of the dmen turn it over at a stupid high frequency.

I hope they keep Fabbro long term though.

I only wish Johnny could have been playing in this Evason style. I feel like he would have been on fire with the rest of these guys.
Well now we're sad, but you're exactly right. He would be buzzing next to 23.

Conversely, Laine would be crashing and burning. Wish him well, glad he's not throwing a wrench in this system.

If only we had won two games on the west coast trip (mostly thinking of the San Jose and Seattle games) we’d be in a playoff spot right now

You've been pretty 'glass half-empty' this year with your posts. Lots of issues to fix on this team before they become a contender but they are pretty entertaining to watch, imo. I'm just going to enjoy the ride and hope the young guys keep getting better.

This is true, chronic losing streaks wear pretty hard on me after years of them. I imagine due to the age and new structure it’s going to be a lot of this up and down stuff. Which is frustrating, but getting KJ back does help things a little bit. Now hopefully Fantilli can get on track.
