Kitchener Rangers 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

I believe Fastpace played at a higher level than most on here, I have no issues with his take on hockey.
Thanks Bobber ! I am not here because of my experience, like all of you on all these threads, I love the game. I try my very best not to criticize any one player on both side, I emphasize on the 20-man-team(s), it is where most of my posting energy are spent on. Many posters like to spend their energies on me (Fastpace), if this keeps the attentions away from player critics, that satisfies me just fine. Cheers, and enjoy the after season series !

I read in Josh Browns game recap that Campbell was named the teams most improved player this year at the team awards. I also saw the team post a photo last week with a table full of awards. Does anyone know where they may have posted this information or will they post more of it after the season like in years past?

Dominant game by the Rangers. Hlacar made three hits on his first shift. Ando decimated a few as did Dirracolo. Then you have Campbell and McNiel hammering away as well. Flint players were NOT allowed to even get near Parsons this game. That was immediately addressed every time by the Rangers. Message sent.

The Rangers showed up this game in a big way on offense right from the get-go. Same in the 2nd and by the 3rd, the damage was done. Rangers eased a bit but never let it get out of hand. Flint had no answer.

Two obvious checks to the head on Missile and not one call. Hello....for me, this is way worse than grabbing your crotch or calling someone a Mennonite (when they are a Mennonite). IMO the message to Campbell was sent when he was penalized and kicked out of the game.

Jussi comments after the game:
  • We're not going to be bullied.
  • That's two wins. We still have two to go.

Parsons looked much sharper.
They tried starting off keeping puck possesion and controlling the pace of the game instead of following Flints lead (ie. getting very aggressive physically) and I think that let them settle in and get comfortable with their game.

I know our PKers are quite good, but holy moly is Flints PP dreadful.

Refs need to do a better job keeping things under control going forward. It felt like things could have gotten ugly with injuries out there. Let them play, but when it's 5-1 mid way thru the 3rd, maybe its time to crack down on things a bit.

I guess its how he says it. Jewish people are called Jews, but using the term 'jew' as a pejorative, even on a Jewish person, is quite offensive. Not a 1-to-1, but similar to if he used it 'mennonite' on the person in the same way.
Although I am always a little confused at those types of misconducts because I have a very hard time believing they're aren't more slurs or derogatory language used game in and game out.

The PbP guys said something that made me think he gave the middle finger, which worried me a bit as we had a suspension for that with Smith a few years ago.

I also don't mind if we take some penalties, if they are taken in the process of the players sticking up for themselves and/or one another. Consistently showing they won't back down and/or be intimated is more valuable than a couple extra PPs.

Did anyone else notice Artem Frolov attempt at Swick following the 6th goal of the game? Pridham received a penalty for slashing after the goal/whistle. While Swick was standing there celebrating his goal at the dot, Frolov came flying in with an attempt at a high hit on Swick, which missed and ended up as skirmish in the corner. Only call on the ice was Pridham for a slash.

Par for the course as it relates to what I'd call poor officiating thus far in the series.

I think the commentator's thought it was Kostov, and the one said he thought the league would have to look at it and was shocked there was no penalty. I didn't rewind to see what happened though and the replay they showed didn't have the incident in frame.

I saw that and I thought Flint would be getting the lone penalty........par for the course.

Out of curiosity, what penalty do you expect to be called on an "attempt"?

I didn't... but if you're going to call an unsportsmanlike every time an "attempt" is made then you're going to have a very full penalty box.
Or you're going to stop a lot of crap after the whistle, especially when in this case the Firebird skated about 30' to try to get at a guy.
