Felt like the effort wasn't really there all game, for either team, and like who cares really. We've seen these two battle it out in much higher intensity games earlier this season.

Oh I was right in that corner and I saw him begging to not fight. Guess what, when you're a dirty and cheap hockey player like him you don't get the benefit of the doubt and sometimes karma gets the best of you.

Sim is no stranger to instigating things. I guess it's just funny to see the handwringing when Sim is on the other end.
MacNeil didn't throw until Sim dropped, but he did grab onto him and wouldn't let go until he did. It looks like the Knights will get their way in this situation re: Sim avoiding suspension, and they will still find a way to be mad about it as usual. Just have to wait for the fans in here to burn themselves out I guess lol.

Maybe it's my own ignorance and our fans are doing it too, but I get pretty sick of the moral grandstanding and pearl clutching from fans of other teams coming in hear who have and will defend anything of this sort that their team does.

He refused the fight to avoid suspension, he's maxed out. Hey, I don't blame you guys for not liking him, probably remember what he did to Rehkopf last year.
Didn't want to fight to avoid suspension as he's at maximum. 30 goals, point per game, shit disturber...we'll keep him!!

He wouldn't have been suspended unless he instigated it which he clearly wasn't there so he would have been fine even if he dropped them earlier.
Only way he avoids suspension is if he's instigated upon.

IMO only one team in the OHL that potentially can beat Kitchener in a best of seven. Unfortunately we are both in the same division / conference. You know hang a right out of Kitchener and drive about an hour WestYeesh. Surely round one will be a formality. (I know. Ask the 2023 Spits about that).
But if we don’t get to round two game 6 or 7 minimum, we’ll be back here debating whether we should have sold off or not at the deadline!

Then maybe he should adjust his style of play to warrant not wanting a fight. He runs around like a goof, runs his mouth better than most. His antics at the penalty box and then after the game skating over to the section of fans that boo'd him and clapping his stick while nodding his head at them, its a real shame he can't control his emotions at all because otherwise he is a pretty good player. Bonk had to go tell him to simmer down TWICE.....

My synopsis of last nights meaningless contest. London won the game . Rangers won the battles. As for Sim he got whupped by a rookie and he was embarrassed. Excuses are like butt holes. McNeil is proving he can throw them.

Highlight of the game. MacNiel absolutely demolished Sim then Sim has a complete meltdown in the box. Not so much fun when the beatdown is on you. By a rookie no less. Embarrassing and well-deserved.
It is a bit of a "weakness" in the 3 fight rule to need to be instigated upon before you scrap, but at the same time that should serve as a deterrent to the player to adjust their style. Sim's year(s) of style of play doesn't absolve him from having someone want to throw with him whether he wants to go or not, I feel he brought it on himself.
A coach of lower moral fibre could use their last roster spot on a plug enforcer in the waning games when positions are locked up to run around and start swinging. Luckily this wasn't what happened here, it was simply a half-used 17-yo rookie tuning up an OA who deserved one, IMO.

He knew what was coming. He dilly dallied waiting for MacNiel to make the first move then got surprised by a major and embarrassing beatdown by a rookie. Cry me a river.

I like the kid and he’d have been in the lineup more if it were up to me, but the blueline is going to be super crowded next year.

Nice problem to have.
Parsons is a whole lot more valuable to the Rangers than Eliot is to the Knights.
That’s what will matter. Especially since their stats are somewhat comparable.

young experienced D-men can bring nice returns. I suspect McNiel will be in the regular playoff lineup. I think Bieliki(sp?) has a great future but his coverage in the d zone isnt playoff ready

Do you feel your team will be even better next season? Cause if so…. LOOK OUT! Very impressive system. I am curious to see how the playoffs shake out, but you guys have as good a shot as anyone. The type of hockey you play is playoff style. Honestly if I was a Rangers fan I would be feeling amazing about the future with Jussi and co running this shop plus a great depth of prospects, young players and one of the most desirable places to play in the CHL.
Last year, this year, and the next two will be the best four year stretch this team has seen in years. Probably DeBoer years
We have 22 returning, signed players going into next year, most if not all are legit OHLers. And that’s BEFORE, imports, OA’s and 09’s are factored in.
This is an extremely great time to be a Ranger fan.

The glory years for sure! Oh yes Deboer era was a fun time for sure.
All I know is the league is better when the Rangers are good
I know he is on the outside looking in but I wouldnt count out Schneider as of yet. I still say he has a shot of cracking the 3rd pairing/ 7th D. I have a feeling that the preseason next year will be VERY competitive.

Add in the list of possible flyer reports (Valentini, Bray, Mooney, Grimes, Benson). I’d be surprised if they all report but I’d be just as surprised if none report.
