Kitchener Rangers 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

When Reid comes back (hopefully we win tomorrow and he is ready to go game 1 of the next series) do we keep Xu in over MacNeil? I thought he played a very solid game for his first OHL playoff game. MacNeil has been beat a couple times this series.

Hlacar scores and then punches the guy. He is the type of player we have not had in a couple seasons. Think he has had a great series.

Ando having a much better playoffs then regular season.

Pridham has great wheels and a great shot. I know it’s unlikely but he would probably be the best OA in the OHL next year if he returns.

Parsons solid.

Really going to need to get Romano line going if we are going to have a chance if we get by Flint. The only good news is all 3 of them are very solid 2 way players so they aren’t hurting us but at some point at even strength they need to step up and produce.
And Hlacar did it all with a smile.

When asked about Hlcar's goal, Jussi commented without breaking a smile:

He's a power play specialist.

:hit::wg:

We didn't even play that well imo. Close it out tomorrow and hopefully look a little better.
Imagine when they do!.....

They sure played tight right up to when Prids scored and blew away Daylight. Oooopsy Daisy!!

That seemed to get the team going and the 3rd period was Rangers. Even the goal against them was theirs! No, sorry Claptrap.....you didn't score. 🥲

Clappinturd should maybe focus on hockey. Seems like he's always running around trying to start something when they really just need to knuckle down and get a goal..
I know they were down 3 but it was odd to see the captain and others decide not to even give his coach the option of pulling the goalie with 2min to go by taking themselves out of the game with after-the-whistle stuff.

Xu is a player I really liked in the draft. Big 6'2" 180 pound rookie. He can make a big hit. Will be a fan favourite over the next couple years.

As mentioned before…..when Reid is back I can’t see them sitting Xu and playing MacNeil.

Missle will be a big loss….that did not look good.

I think Hlacar got hurt too? It was almost off the tv screen but looks like he got injured behind the net. Anyone at the game see him struggle to get to the bench?

I was all about drafting him as well. Kept hoping we’d take a chance on him watching the draft online and was happy that we did.
One of the scouting reports on him was a comparison to Dustin Byfuglien.

Struggled to get to bench. Took a bit of a cheap shot in the back bit from what I saw it didn't look serious. Maybe a kidney shot

When you think about it, we had a pretty good draft last April. Headrick in the first round, Cameron, and Xu, both first round ranked in many mock drafts.

Add in Bilecki and Schaubel, who are both impressive players and that’s a ton of quality in that age group. We’ll see what we have in Anstis next year.

Fingers crossed on Valentini.

Flint is a big physical team. Size matters in the play offs. Rangers aren't getting any favour's from these refs. Have to play through. Like to see the Rangers have a couple big sandpaper players on the team next couple seasons. Flint has players running around that need to be sent a message.
More worried with the refs not calling things that hopefully no one else goes down. Hlacar seems to be getting the calls against so dont want to be shorthanded too many times.

Flint 0/20 on the PP, yikes. That 7 minute kill was massive for the Rangers. If only one of the several chances following ended in the back of the net, team earned a late goal if you ask me.

Hopefully Misel isn't out for too long. Looked painful on the replay/

Whats the standard suspension for a Slew Foot, 2 games? Given its playoffs they usually reduce the length a bit. By regular season standards the OHL was using, game of the penalty was game 1 of the suspension if your match penalty was incurred in the first half of the game. So there's that positive anyways.

From the view on the couch that looked like weak call for a slew foot. Didn't look like the definition.
